Yeah, and FDR screwed the economy so bad, it was a decade before they got back on level ground.
Of course we're still dealing with some of the screw ups to this very day.

We're already at least $10 Trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities, and that's assuming we borrow money indefinitely.
But in truth, Bernie destroyed himself. Socialism never works. Every single policy that Bernie supported, has been implemented in Venezuela. A country now in near fatal collapse. People are literally starving, while the rest sit in the dark, because the green energy investments haven't paid off.
Riots in the streets not over taxes even... just food. Over a million people, and businesses have left the country, that only has 26 Million people. Yet there are housing shortages, no jobs, rampant inflation, no electricity, no paper products, massive shortages, and all the government can do is blame 'economic warfare by capitalists'.
Bernie is a socialists. The public isn't yet stupid enough to openly support an economic system that has failed in every single country that has ever attempted it.
Maybe someday, people will be that brainless. But not yet.
