lWhat has the Auto Industry actually invented in the last 70 years?

Same thing could be said for human drivers.

When the safety record of the robot cars equals that of human drivers, it is time to allow mass marketing.

i am NOT going to put up with having these cars stuck in testing, while I am stuck at home because I am too old.

Good for you. But Tesla's auto drive has already been found to be dangerous under certain weather. If it's fogged, Tesla's auto drive will run over pedestrians because it lacks anything to see through the fog. Yet, some states are allowing them. The fix is actually easy. Add infrared sensors on it. Tesla hasn't done that even though it's a known problem. The Technology may be ready but the ones controlling it are only after the bottom line of money.

Roll cages and spoilers ... oh ... and helmets ... today's drivers wear helmets ...

Now look at an Indycar today, that's what the car industry has invented since WWII ...

In late 60s and 70s, I built a 66 cuda sticking with the 273. With just simple hoppups, I created something that was way better than my current hemi dodge.

My Hemi Dodge gets 14 mpg around town and up to 24 at highway speeds. The time through the quarter is in the middle 15 seconds. The HP at the wheels is about 320 to 340. The Hemi Dodge tips the scales at about 4100 lbs. Top speed 174 mph

My old Plymouth got about 15 around town and 24 at highway speeds. It's time through the quarter was 11.9. The HP at the wheel was 375 (checked on a dyno in 1975)., Of course, the car was weighing in at about 2600 lbs. Top speed 155 mph. I will admit, you didn't get into the Cuda, you put it on like a war fuzzy jacket.
