Little Girl Trashes a Walmart; Adults Make Excuses

If that was my child she would get a major ass whooping.

My daughter, recently retired 55 year old former 3rd grade teacher for 30 years, dealt with much of this her last 5 years or so. It was a rural school, mostly farm kids. So race has zero to do with it. Now she's collecting her pension, working 3/4 time and bringing home more $ than when she was full time. And alot less stress.

Thank you for this. The kids are not all right. I'm her age and next year is my last, that's the plan anyway. It's too bad because I still love teaching--but parenting has taken a real nosedive.

And she does? Then I would have gotten her name and address and called the cops and made HER responsible.

We are therapizing EVERYTHING and it's mostly bad news. And my profession is not very bright, so when I tell people, hey, let's just do this everywhere: when the cops stop you for speeding or whatnot, instead of issuing you a ticket, they'll ask you if you have "BIG FEELINGS" or if you're "DYSREGULATED".

And look, I love working with kids. I understand that they're learning and need grace and second chances. But this is ridiculous.

"Dysregulated." That was a new one to me last year, and I've been working with behavior for a while.

All kinds of euphemisms for "spoiled and entitled."

Seymour, I'm a subversive (shhhh)

I don't just watch these kids and stand off to the side. I come up to them with my mom voice and my steely spine and say, "Here's the deal. X or Y. Pick one."

And the kids BACK OFF. Why? Because they know I mean it. I'm not trying to brag when I say the other adults in the room are like, wow, that's amazing, how does she do that?

Here's a tip: stop thinking about the kids FEELINGS and start thinking about making them in to a fulfilled, happy, productive member of society.

We're so dumb in education. So dumb.

Walmart can trespass them for life without a reason.

They will be arrested for returning.

This is the way. I'm not kidding. All the "gentle parents" that get banned from private establishments is the way.

At which point they will sue Walmart and claim sexism, racism, ableism, or all kinds of isms.

^^^ If the incident is all on camera, how much of a leg would they have to stand on?

God bless you always!!!

Holly
Very little.

But Walmart will pay them anyway to avoid the accusation and the court costs.

To me, forking over any money no matter how much or how little would only open up the door for even more scenes to take place. In other words, tantrums and freak shows are not to be rewarded in any way.

God bless you always!!!

I completely agree. Especially Walmart, who can stand to be attacked by the harpies on The View.
