I'm sure many of us have met liberals who actually wish the British had won. I've met a few. Why do they wish that? Because England became a socialist country in the late 1940s, because England established a universal health care system in 1948, and because England would have ended slavery in America without a civil war.
So you want to deny health care to the poor, and want slavery?
First of all, the meaning of the label "liberal" means a strong advocacy for individual liberties, so it is liberals who were the strongest supporters for the revolution.
Second is that the only reason why England ended its dominance by the the right wing conservatives, is that got badly beaten by 2 world wars it never recovered from economically.
If not for these wars, it still would be an evil empire, rules by a monarchy.
