Letitia James indicted

DOJ struggles to build mortgage fraud case against Trump adversary Letitia James, sources tell CNN

Justice Department prosecutors in Virginia believe they have not gathered enough evidence to indict Letitia James, the New York Attorney General and long term adversary of President Donald Trump, for mortgage fraud, according to a source familiar with the matter and another person briefed on the matter.

The five-month investigation has featured interviews with dozens of witnesses, the source said, cautioning that the investigation is still ongoing.

The US Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of Virginia declined to comment.

Trump has urged DOJ officials to investigate James aggressively. The president has privately and angrily complained about James even months into taking office, multiple sources familiar with the conversations told CNN.

As has consistently been the case the orange piece of shit just keeps firing people until he finds someone who's sycophancy overrules their better judgement. Enter Lindsey Halligan.
Ah yes, anonymous sources say so! CNN has become such a joke I don't know why anyone would waste their time watching.

No struggle exists. If she signed the owner occ affidavit and received a loan consistent with owner occ criteria, it was fraud

So very sweet....

Halligan isn’t legally appointed so the case is dismissed.

New York Attorney General Letitia James was indicted in federal court on Thursday as President Donald Trump’s Justice Department continues to pursue charges against his political opponents.

Specific details not yet available, but it sounds like mortgage fraud. Oh what a tangled web we weave.

Yet another co-conspirator who tried to take down a president is brought to justice! Trump is stacking up the Dem felons like cordwood, good job Mr. president! :eusa_clap:

Previously, I was recalling an earlier account of what the indictment would likely be about. That involved primary residence. However, the indictment turns out to be about the use of the property and AG James’ misrepresentations about its intended use as a secondary residence (with a provision about it not being used as a rental properly). It gave her some tax advantages and a better mortgage rate.

Her alleged resulting financial benefit is relatively small. “Only” about $18,000.00.

But fraud is still fraud. And it looks like it is simple enough to prove especially where the mortgagor is a lawyer, herself.

So, it seems to me that this case is almost a slam dunk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The only bumps in the road I foresee for the Government will come from the bench. We shall see.

No one has ever been able to prove that MAR A LAGO is worth $17 million.

That was such bullshit.

And sadly, Alexandria jury.
Show them the application and affidavit signed by her. It really is that simple. The more simple you make the case, the harder it is for a juror to deny it as they will be the one having to defend it in the deliberations when the other jurors jump on her for dragging the thing out.

For years the Democrats persecuted political opponents and bragged they did it.

They cheered the Fani Willis indictments in Atlanta, 19 people on trumped-up RICO allegations.
