Obama was considered leftist by American standards. By European standards he was right of center. American Democrats are considered the left party but because they do not support health care for all or wealth tax or the shorter work week among other things they are considered conservative certainly not socialist to most of the world. So what is left or right depends on the culture you come from?
As for economics even socialist nations like China have had to make capitalistic compromises.

The distinction is not really between right and left.

The true distinction is between right and wrong.

And a major point of the founding of America was very specifically not to be like the tyrannical shithole nations of Europe. Any premise which is based on comparing America to these shitholes, and presumes that American should be more like the European shitholes, fails from its very beginning.

One has to wonder what sort of degenerate society or background the OP, shoshi comes from, to see Obama as “right of center”. Surely not from any position to even begin to understand what America is supposed to be about.
Never said I believed that. i said that is how he was seen in Europe.

The left of the world isn't interested in owning anything that is considered to be the position of the Democratic party.
That's not to say there is no left in America. There appears to be some at least in Bernie. With caution on account of the possibility that Bernie could never stick to his guns of political reform.

Even in the US
Obama was moderate left

Moderate leftists don't invite members of militant leftist terrorist groups to the White House on multiple occasions. Members of groups who bombed police stations, the Capitol, and the Pentagon during the 60's and 70's.

I'm just sayin'. Funny, I don't remember any of the Jan. 6 protesters bombing the Capitol, do you?

This thread has gotten completely derailed and turned into a flamefest. I think you forgot it is in the CDZ.

The topic seems to about the differences between what is considered let and right here and in Europe, with Obama given as one example of how it is viewed.

Tone down the insults please and discuss the topic.

I suppose what i was saying is different cultures have different standards on what is left liberal and right conservative.

Being in the UK, I view Obama as Left Wing.

Also, just having Left Wing and Right Wing is the basic form. Political orientation is on more than two axes.

Obama is considered center right, even by American standards.

In Europe he's viewed as a conservative.
