Name one developed country on this planet that still uses 18th-19th century economics. As in tariffs funding the government, no income taxes, no government regulation of the work place, safety regulations or safetynet for the old and disabled.

Name it. I'd like to know what country has high living standards that allows its rich to literally control every function of the society without government having any input into the process.

There's a reason that I can't and most countries that have anywhere near this are mostly in africa. Sudan? Congo? Somalia? Places that allow this sort of shit with allowing all the wealth to be at the top and to hell with the poor and the working classes. There's a reason we left these policies behind. Trump wanting to go back to these polieces proves just how owned he is by the rich...Elon musk wants to rule us as our better and that isn't right.

For the 18th-19th century very few people had much wealth. Most people worked until the day they died and were lucky to have any rights at all.

We were more like Kenya or Congo in wealth and living standards. probably below the former.

Trump and Musk want the gilded age. IF you don't have millions in the bank you shouldn't be voting for it.

Why? Trump doesn’t want to go back to those polcies. You are lying or been lied to

Seriously? Lets check them out.

1. Tariffs funding the government

2. No income tax

3. No government regulation of the workplace.

While Project 2025 does not eliminate OSHA, it does provide further restrictions on the agency ability to oversee the workplace. The problem is, OSHA has already been virtually neutered, and has been since Ronald Regan. Workers are being injured and killed on the job at an alarmingly increasing rate.

And I have to lift a quote from the above link.

The spokesperson said the plan calls for greater flexibility in overtime pay so that workers, particularly those with families, can have more flexibility in their hours without receiving smaller paychecks

Of course the spokesperson was from the Heritage Foundation. What a misleading piece of shit. The primary concept in the overtime "flexibility" is that overtime will be calculated over a number of weeks, not one. Work 60 hours this week, work 20 next week, no overtime. But guess what LESS MONEY. What flippin flexibility. Can a worker, with a family, ask for a couple extra days off while his kids are on Fall Break, and then work a couple extra days the next week? Hell no. It is the employer that gets to make the demand, not a request. And that smaller paycheck? Well that is if you work overtime one week and the next week the employer gives you an extra day off. Sure, your paycheck would be smaller, but the overtime week would have resulted in the same pay as usual.

If Trump is reelected, he is going to put a tariff on your every stupid post here. Then he will declare income taxes only for democrats, no regulations for MAGA members, and finally, all of you must buy a pound of Halloween candy for every Trump supporter you meet.

We'll all be toothless. 🎃

1) we have had tariffs ever since we were founded, through the 20th and 21st century. We have them now.

2) while that is a great goal, it’s not something that’s gonna happen over the next four years and trump has not suggested it will happen over the next four years. Taxing progress, is a bad thing. The govt can find other ways to collect taxes and we as a country should aspire to more then taxing people for producing goods and services

3) trump has never, ever wanted no regulations oF the work place.

I'm betting you think socialism is the way ? The most violent socioeconomic system in history that's murdered mega-millions.

"The problem with socialism is that you can vote your way into it but you need to shoot your way out of it."

Let me give you a history lesson. For the most part, at the founding the only means the government had of raising revenue was tariffs, period. If you would have spent two minutes reading the links you would understand that one of the reasons behind the income tax was to give the government the ability to ease tariffs.

Taxing progress? What, you want a flat tax? That is stupid. Take something like, well, flood insurance since I am in Western North Carolina. Would you want insurance companies to charge everyone the same. Half a broken down shack on the side of the river, well you pay the same premium as the Congressional representative that lives there in her multi-million dollar home and blocks access out to her neighbors, like what is happening on Grandfather Mountain.

Or liability insurance on your car. You have been driving for 50 years, never had an accident or even as much as a speeding ticket. You drive a late model Ford. The high school kid, who has had his license for a year and drives a Bentley, and is about to point out and lose his license, he pays the same. And believe me, where I live and my kids went to High School, there are Bentleys in the student parking section.

Yes, I am aware we used tariffs since we were founded and still do

Comparing a private company making money to the govt is just silly

You embarrassed yourself there

A govts job isn’t to make money, it’s to promote its citizens

I keep waiting for Progs to take from the rich. I mean really take from the rich. They do not. We have state, local and city taxes on top of federal taxes and all of the hidden ones. The real issue is not destroying the system. There are people who say the deficits do not mean anything. It does in world affairs as we are the planet's reserve currency and the percentage of that has dropped at an alarming percentage over the decades. Inflation is insidious and it affects people differently. Progs have screwed up with inflation and with illegal immigrants. Citizens in working class, working poor and poor areas have a double whammy hitting them. And it is still not easy to get them to vote for Trump who would be good for most. Trump is not a problem for Prog voters. Kamala is a problem for Republican voters.
