How many years now into a war Putin thought he could start and win in just a matter of weeks? That’s not “winning.”

Of course, it's winning in any reasonable meaning of the word.

How many Russian servicemen and N. Korean service men have died in what was supposed to be a swift war and mop up? Well over a million. That’s not “winning.”

Doesn't matter how many died. Much more were saved, and much more are going to be saved in the nearest future.

Putin miscalculated and has inflicted the gravest of harm on Ukrainian people and own people. That’s not winning.

Of course it is winning.

I hope Putin has a stroke and dies. Period.

It won't change a thing. Actually, it might turn up much worse for you. You see, there is no "party of peace" in Russia, because one simply can't make peace with people who openly declared their goal as one's genocide. There are "party of coercers", who believe that by combination of rather moderate (but constantly increasing) military efforts, economic pressure, proper diplomatic efforts, etc they can force the West to realise that the Russians are human beings or, at least, to understand necessity of the peaceful coexistence. And there is a "party of eliminators" who tell that all those diplomatic efforts are useless and conception of constantly increasing violence (especially steps of "special military operation") are totally useless and that the West can not and, therefore, shouldn't be "coerced", and should be simply eliminated.

Nevertheless, the Russian people’s being generally supportive of Putin isn’t a big surprise. The number who don’t like his “foreign policy” is the surprise. Not even 1 in 6 agree with that evil scumbag on the war against Ukraine.

But it seems to me that either the question was inaccurate, either they asked only educated English-speakers, coz simple people prefer simple solutions and the total elimination of the enemy is the simpliest solution, you know.
