Kissinger, Nixon and Vietnam

We should have gotten out in 1964
Had JFK not been ruthlessly murdered by a cabal of criminals, we would have.
JFK would have followed the same path that LBJ did in Vietnam

He had the same advisors
Many disagree, but you wouldn’t know this.

Those who martyr JFK think he is incapable of making a wrong decision. Any President in 1965 would have done the same as LBJ. Nixon, Goldwater AND JFK would not have passed on an opportunity to fight communism. It would have ruined their careers
You’re uninformed. JFK changed dramatically while in the White House, from his days as a hardened cold warrior. He gave a speech not long before he was murdered, that people like you ignore. Guess what? It’s call the Peace Speech. He also was covertly negotiating with Khrushchev to end the Cold War. He was in constant disagreement with the JCS and many others in his administration who wanted war. He intended to pull out of Vietnam as soon as he was re-elected. All these things are ignored or minimized by people like you.
Yea...everyone was advocating peace in Vietnam in 1963.
Then Diem was assassinated (three weeks before JFK) and the South went into turmoil. North Vietnam was on the verge of overtaking the South unless they received military aid.

LBJ wanted no part of putting American troops on the ground. But he was adamant that “Vietnam won’t turn communist on my watch” and his military advisers and Secretary of Defense MacNamara (same as LBJ had) all said we needed a few ground troops to turn back the tide and we would be home by Christmas.

LBJ took the bait. So would have JFK
No everyone wasn’t advocating peace. Just more bs by you. JFK fully intended to pull out of Vietnam, but you silly deniers need to believe lies to promote your silly beliefs.

Of course JFK advocated pulling out of Vietnam. Why wouldn’t he?
South Vietnam was still stable under Diem and looked like they could function without US ground troops.

But in early November of 1963, Diem was assassinated. It created a power void and political turmoil. In 1964, the North took advantage and invaded.

But 1964 was an election year and LBJ did nothing. By 1965, it was evident the South would collapse without US intervention.

LBJ did not want to appear soft on Communism, neither would any President at that time...

Including JFK

JFK could see through the efforts of the warmongers to push for war. He knew they were capable of just about anything to get their war, including a false flag. Operation Northwoods proved to JFK he was surrounded by psychopaths. This is why he was very quietly working to bug out of Vietnam. When you are surrounded by warmongers, as he was, he had to be very careful. Unfortunately, he wasn’t careful enough.

Read his Peace Speech, if you can read.

Revisionist history that ignores the political realities of Vietnam in 1965.

Would JFK have sat back and allowed Vietnam to be overrun by the Communists?

I doubt any President would

That’s not a correct depiction. JFK could see the people of Vietnam wanted peace and were not willing to fight against communism. It is however a very typical opinion of the establishment. Hate the commie.

We were in the middle of a Cold War.
In the 1950s and 60s there was fear of Communism taking over the world. No President could survive in that time period if they appeared soft on Communism.

Negotiating for a Communist Vietnam and peace would be political suicide

No. It would have been leadership. JFK tried and yes he was suicided by the establishment, for it.

Like Korea, Vietnam seemed at face value like a legitimate use of American Troops. Communist thugs attempted to take over capitalist country by force and the U.S. would stop them. The problem is that Truman was intimidated by his own General and was incapable of making a logical decision. In Vietnam LBJ set the rules so that the U.S. could win every battle and still lose the war. The role of the CIA in Vietnam is still debated.

Anyone who thinks Ears was our greatest president, and winger believes that shit, must have a very low IQ.

Obama was the drone President in more ways than one. Escalating existing wars like Afghanistan and Iraq plus getting us into Syria, Libya, and elsewhere. He was the classic passive/aggressive STOOGE. A mere pawn of the Globalists and MIC.

LBJ gave the MIC their war in Vietnam. It was totally fought the wrong way, but at least sent a message to the USSR and China that we'd stand up to Communism. Yes, it should have been carried out differently. However, it is easy to Monday morning quarterback these things.

They don’t call him the Great Obama for nothing

The US turned a Civil War into a Cold War
Cost us 60,000 lives

If he had lived, JFKs second term would have mirrored LBJ

Instead of students chanting.......Hey, Hey LBJ , how many boys did you kill today?

It would be.......Hey, Hey JFK, how many boys did you kill today?

JFK would have been hated

I agree it is easy to “Monday morning quarterback.” But that said, I don’t think the Vietnam War could have been fought any differently, certainly not with any better result. It could only have been ended sooner.

Obama opposed the Iraq invasion in the first place, and ultimately was elected President — after the U.S. population lost its appetite for this military adventure — in large part on the strength of his original opposition. Baby Bush had already been forced to outline a withdrawal of U.S. occupation forces before he left office, and this was carried out by Obama. Like in Vietnam, the hard right Republicans obstructed and denounced, but reluctantly went along. Not the same dynamic as Kissinger & Nixon in Vietnam, but Republicans were still partisan and obstructionist and played the “tough guy” game to the end.

From 2008, with the steady drawdown in troop levels and withdrawal of remaining U.S. soldiers from Iraqi cities, the Iranians actively discouraged Iraqi Shia attacks on U.S. and British occupiers. The messy “democratic” political struggle took precedence. “Civilian” personnel based at the U.S. Embassy and contractors still numbered in the tens of thousands. There was really no “escalation” of the “existing” war under Obama in Iraq. There was only later a small increase in military advisors after the ISIS upsurge, which was reasonable in my opinion. U.S. troops never did real fighting against ISIS, except from the sky.

Of course the idiotic U.S. involvement in trying to overthrow Assad led directly to the growth of ISIS, and our support for overthrowing Qaddafi without a plan to replace him proved disasterous to Libya and to Europe too. The temporary “surge” in Afghanistan and then long continuing drone war there was also a pointless endeavor. These were all Obama’s responsibility.

One would think after all these military failures, all Americans would rise up against any further interventions, but it’s the exact opposite. The killing goes on and on...it’s as if the profit making potential for the MIC is the guiding principle. The politicians, billionaires, and MSM support constant war. It’s a racket the Mafia can only dream of.

Why Bombs Made in America Have Been Killing Civilians in Yemen
President Trump sees arms deals as jobs generators for firms like Raytheon, which has made billions in sales to the Saudi coalition. The Obama administration initially backed the Saudis too, but later regretted it as thousands died.
