I don't understand all of the legalities here so maybe it was an illegal move, but I still find it to be stupid. After all, as far as I'm aware it is still legal to take your children to a drag queen show and mutilate their body parts but THIS is the problem, not any of that.

If Trump is really a felon then what is he still doing in office? Why wasn't he removed and imprisoned?

Because he won the election. Him being imprisoned would have prevented him from doing his duties. A state putting the President-Elect in prison is unworkable.

So the Judge validated the jury felony conviction and and awarded an "unconditgional discharge" as the sentence. Unconditional discharge means the conviction stands but there is no fine, probation, or prison time awarded.
