Kitanje Jackson was more qualified than Kavanaugh, Coney Barrett, and, I believe, had more time as a judge than Roberts had when he was nominated. Also, at the time of her nomination, she was more qualified than Thomas was when he was nominated by the first Bush. Politics had nothing to do with the appointment.
