Gee, maybe ... um ... possibly their long held "traditional values" are only principled positions when they help the GOP win electons. When they don't ... well ...

Hypocrisy?

Those against gay marriage are a dying breed. 81% of those 29 and under are for it.

The point of this thread is not justice or the right's of others, it's all about the hypocrisy of the GOP.

Well, at the same token parties sometime need to evolve to become a more accurate representation of the people and current set of cultural norms. Things change all the time.

You can't fault them for that.

Hypocrisy?

How so?

Every party evolves.

Do you think every (R) opposes gay marriage or every (D) opposes gun ownership.

I said a few weeks back that the(Rs need to open their "Big Tent" back up.

Do you believe Rove and others support gay rights or Hispanics/Blacks/Women for any reason other than to win elections? I don't. Some individuals do, but the Party is all about The Party.

Maybe he's realizing that there's no future in opposing gay marriage. The young people have spoken and it's clear what direction we're headed.

.

Absolutely. The direction we are going is down the same shithole as every other culture that went this way. The bright side is no one will feel sorry when the final blow comes. We will deserve it. We do now.

Gimme a break.

In the 1850's it was legal for a man to own another man and whip him if he misbehaved. Women also couldn't vote, alcoholism was at an epidemic level, and child labor was perfectly acceptable.

But we were much better off then because less people supported gay marriage.

Do you see why this sounds silly?
