Learning to use new software tools from instructional video's is rarely that easy, is it? I do insurance claim submission, credentialing, and benefit verification for multiple medical clinics, each with a different practice management software system. After 14 years it's become clear:
* It's not simple
* It's not fast
* It's not easy
I'd like to get the geeks who create these vids, and make them use their own systems for just 1 month with real doctors, patients, tech support people, and insurance companies, with 20% of the information missing (which usually happens) long telephone hold times, front office staff who are more interested in their cell phones than doing the patient and insurance data entry properly, explanation of benefits statements that are now only available on a website they don't have access to, software shutdowns for system upgrades, tech support issues, all while the clinic owners are drumming their fingers on their desks wanting to know why a claims submitted 5 weeks ago haven't yet paid, and 25% of the paid claims that have not yet been posted to their ledger.
- Then they can confirm to us all we need to do is "follow these simple steps...."
