Just desserts for a Trump insurrectionist

His job was to arrest her.
yes…. That was the goal. You try to arrest someone when they are violently coming at you and ignoring your commands as a police officer.

She wasn't violently coming at him.

She wasn't violently coming at him.
Right, she and the violent mob were violently coming for the people he is paid to protect.

In what universe are cops only allowed to use deadly force on people who threaten their own person? Not this one.

From the example earlier: if you refuse the police commands and run away, you get shot in the back. And not because the officer is protecting himself.

And the officer now get charged with murder.

If you polled the hate filled left you probably come up with an overwhelming opinion that (white) unarmed Ashley Babbitt deserved to be executed by a Capital Cop for the crime of attempted trespass.

That's of course stupid, and she was not shot over trespassing.

This criminal was one of Trump's worst; he attacked police who were trying to protect our country from violent insurrectionists. But, not to worry; Trump has promised to pardon his sorry ass. Law and order means nothing to him and his cult. Bigly!!!
Was he charged or convicted of "insurrection"? That would be like coming on here and calling you the rapist or murderer. Yet you clowns just itkeep throwing shit against the wall hoping it sticks

And it's aggravating watching "them" do nothing to reign in trolling behavior only when it's TDS infected Democrats doing

Was he charged or convicted of "insurrection"?
Irrelevant. This isn't a court of law, and nobody is making a legally binding decree that he go to jail for being guilty of that charge.

This is the court of public opinion. Where we can make such judgments with our eyes and ears.

And America has made its judgment. Most Americans see it as the attack on democracy that it was.

Fair enough.
Now we have the versions that earnest posters -Protectionist, Lastamender, and Death-Ninja, subscribe to and advocate for.

They be who they be. And believe what they believe. All cool enough, I suppose.

As a perspective though we can read the reportage posted this afternoon about this criminal, Dempsey, with his list of priors...... now sentenced to 20yrs.

And, to be totally honest with my view of it all.....that 20yrs in the slammer has a better chance of making America great than will the crackpot theories from conspiracy nut jobs and Alex Jones wannabes.

IMHO

David N. Dempsey came to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the U.S. Capitol well-prepared and well-experienced in committing violence at political rallies. He wore a bulletproof tactical vest, a black helmet and a gaiter to obscure most of his face, and he brought a spare gaiter and shirt that he changed into during the riot.

Before climbing up over other rioters on the steps of the Capitol, he gave an interview in front of the gallows constructed nearby and rattled off the names of prominent Democrats he hated. “They don’t need a jail cell,” Dempsey said. “They need to hang from these.”
Dempsey then repeatedly attacked police in the lower West Terrace tunnel for more than an hour, throwing poles and deploying bear spray at the line of officers protecting the Capitol. He used bear spray directly inside the mask of one officer, who testified that he thought he might die, and used a crutch to smash another officer’s head, giving him a concussion.

U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth sentenced Dempsey, 37, to 20 years in prison Friday, the second-longest sentence of the approximately 950 defendants sentenced so far. Only Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys who was convicted of seditious conspiracy, received a longer sentence, 22 years.

w
“Your conduct on January 6 was especially egregious,” Lamberth told Dempsey. “You didn’t make a split-second decision to use violence. You did not get carried away in the moment. You have a long and well-documented history of inflicting violence on political opponents.”
Dempsey pleaded guilty in January to two counts of assaulting police with dangerous or deadly weapons in the Capitol attack.

The judge also weighed Dempsey’s lengthy criminal history in California for burglary, drug dealing, evading police and “assault with a caustic chemical,” for spraying bear spray at anti-Trump protesters in 2020, one of multiple attacks he allegedly launched at political rallies.
None of which correlates with the media hyperbole use of the word "insurrection."

"insurrection."

Webster's --1828 ----"Insurrection" A rising against civil or political authority; the open and active opposition of a number of persons to the execution of law in a city or state. It is equivalent to sedition, except that sedition expresses a less extensive rising of citizens.

Britannica ---2024---- "insurrection, an organized and usually violent act of revolt or rebellion against an established government or governing authority of a nation-state or other political entity by a group of its citizens or subjects; also, any act of engaging in such a revolt.

If it walks like duck, looks like a duck............
Then it is Pelosi, the FBI, the Capitol police, and the DHS making it look like a duck.

Look at how many cases there have been where cities have had to pay out settlements over unconstitutional arrests of the people.

Yes, I believe uprising over that is justified.

We have had 13. states independant 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century and half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Thomas Jefferson

Huh, you literally just justified the violent attack on J6….those people had thought the election had been stolen.
