Just desserts for a Trump insurrectionist

And then, in contradistinction we have RightWinger and Boogaloo Bois Ivan Harrison Hunter who fired his semi-automatc into a Minneapolis police headquarters and lit the building afire during the social justice unrest following the police murder of George Floyd.

From multiple media sources...CBS, NBC, Guardian, et al:

"A rightwing extremist boasted of driving from Texas to Minneapolis to help set fire to a police precinct during the George Floyd protests, federal prosecutors said.

US attorney Erica MacDonald said on Friday that she had charged Ivan Harrison Hunter, a 26-year-old Texas resident, with traveling across state lines to participate in a riot. The charges are the latest example of far-right extremists attempting to use violence to escalate national protests against police brutality into an uprising against the government, and even full civil war.

The case also reveals the extent of the coordination between violent members of the nascent far-right “Boogaloo Bois” movement operating in different cities across the country.

Later, he privately messaged Steven Carrillo, another alleged “Boogaloo Boi” in California, urging him to “go for police buildings”, according to the federal criminal complaint.

“I did better, lol,” Carrillo allegedly replied.

Hours before Carrillo sent that message, according to the complaint, federal prosecutors say Carrillo had driven to Oakland with an accomplice, and, as protesters were demonstrating blocks away, shot two officers guarding a federal courthouse in downtown Oakland, killing one, David Patrick Underwood.

Carrillo was later charged with killing another law enforcement officer, a Santa Cruz sheriff’s deputy, in an ambush attack in June.

This incident illustrates that in many of the civil disturbances during the social justice unrest of 2020 were sparked or accelerated by right wing nutjobs. Witness yesterday's reportage of the California right wing nut job who was sentenced to 20yrs in prison for savagely beating uniformed police protecting our elected representatives in Washington DC. The judge in the sentencing cited the RWNJ's participation in and violence during other political protests by people these RWNJ's don't like.

We have seen in city after city that RWNJ instigators started and propelled the violence.
Conservatives do not have clean hands with what happened in that summer.....which, it seems, was merely a training exercise for the thousands of Trumploons who attacked America on January 6th.

I know that, you know that, everybody knows that.

Does it really bother you that he attacked the police? Where were you when the protesters in DC and other cities were throwing bricks and bottles at riot police? Where were you when the radical Left was calling for “defunding the Police”?

What a ******* insult to law enforcement.
So you're saying that since there were other riots and criminal acts, that it's ok for a Trump cult mob to attempt to overthrow the government? That seems to be a typical refrain from far right Trump cult fans.

No, what you are doing is shifting the topic to the riots themselves. My topic is the hypocrisy of the Left when it comes to the police and law enforcement as exhibited in the riots throughout US and the riot at the US Capitol.

This criminal was one of Trump's worst; he attacked police who were trying to protect our country from violent insurrectionists. But, not to worry; Trump has promised to pardon his sorry ass. Law and order means nothing to him and his cult. Bigly!!!
The guy should be pardoned. He didn't kill anyone unlike that asshole that shot an unarmed Ashli Babbitt.

David Dempsey.
Making America Great by clubbing uniformed police with an iron club.
Can you do that without accountability?

Republicans now if they want to can charge anyone for the same thing as Progs did. They deface or damage any government type of statue or building it is an insurrection. Technically, a good percentage of the Pro Hama protestors should be in jail now. This is why we do not believe in our government much anymore. You can see the corruption and hear the lies every day and Progs do not mind it.

I was wondering why they were not doing anything to rioters but that doesn't justify what the MAGAT ***** did.

One group protested over an unjust justice system while the other protested over the lies of a poor loser.

There is no comparison.

WHAT does ONE incident have to do with another?
Does one negate the other?

BOTH groups were arrested.
One group claimed, if you didn't watch the video, it was a normal tourist visit.
One group claimed the rioters shouldn't have been arrested.
One group claimed the rioters were political prisoners.

I’ve been very consistent. She did not obey police commands and the police felt threatened and shot her even though she was unarmed which is exactly what happens in almost all of the cases where an unarmed person gets shot because they did not listen or they threatened the police and got shot…… and then the city gets torched.

The topic is police getting supported or not supported for shooting an unarmed perpetrator who is not obeying commands and is threatening the officer. You are shifting the debate to rioting cities vs. rioting the Capitol.

I addressed your question.

Where were you when the protesters in DC and other cities were throwing bricks and bottles at riot police? Where were you when the radical Left was calling for “defunding the Police”?

If you don't want questions answered, don't ask them.

So you are saying that depending on the situation, it’s okay to hurl bricks and bottles at police and defund them? But, if they shoot one of your political enemies who is engaging in the same behavior, support the police?

Good point, it seem the treat to police only matters when “maga” is involved…good catch

Trump says he's gonna pardon the J6 thugs.

Absolutely. I've said it many times.

We have had 13. states independant 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century and half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Thomas Jefferson.

But, if they shoot one of your political enemies who is engaging in the same behavior, support the police?

I've noted that I saw no justification for shooting her but the situations are nowhere near the same.

Again, one is a protest over an unjust justice system and the other was over the lies of a poor loser.

That's not the topic of the OP. Start your own thread.

I’m sure law enforcement would find your conditional support insulting and justifying it with a passage from Thomas Jefferson laughable.

Fair enough.
Now we have the versions that earnest posters -Protectionist, Lastamender, and Death-Ninja, subscribe to and advocate for.

They be who they be. And believe what they believe. All cool enough, I suppose.

As a perspective though we can read the reportage posted this afternoon about this criminal, Dempsey, with his list of priors...... now sentenced to 20yrs.

And, to be totally honest with my view of it all.....that 20yrs in the slammer has a better chance of making America great than will the crackpot theories from conspiracy nut jobs and Alex Jones wannabes.

IMHO

David N. Dempsey came to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the U.S. Capitol well-prepared and well-experienced in committing violence at political rallies. He wore a bulletproof tactical vest, a black helmet and a gaiter to obscure most of his face, and he brought a spare gaiter and shirt that he changed into during the riot.

Before climbing up over other rioters on the steps of the Capitol, he gave an interview in front of the gallows constructed nearby and rattled off the names of prominent Democrats he hated. “They don’t need a jail cell,” Dempsey said. “They need to hang from these.”
Dempsey then repeatedly attacked police in the lower West Terrace tunnel for more than an hour, throwing poles and deploying bear spray at the line of officers protecting the Capitol. He used bear spray directly inside the mask of one officer, who testified that he thought he might die, and used a crutch to smash another officer’s head, giving him a concussion.

U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth sentenced Dempsey, 37, to 20 years in prison Friday, the second-longest sentence of the approximately 950 defendants sentenced so far. Only Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys who was convicted of seditious conspiracy, received a longer sentence, 22 years.

w
“Your conduct on January 6 was especially egregious,” Lamberth told Dempsey. “You didn’t make a split-second decision to use violence. You did not get carried away in the moment. You have a long and well-documented history of inflicting violence on political opponents.”
Dempsey pleaded guilty in January to two counts of assaulting police with dangerous or deadly weapons in the Capitol attack.

The judge also weighed Dempsey’s lengthy criminal history in California for burglary, drug dealing, evading police and “assault with a caustic chemical,” for spraying bear spray at anti-Trump protesters in 2020, one of multiple attacks he allegedly launched at political rallies.
