Of course it’s the topic. Some local district judge is overruling Trump’s directions and trying to give orders to a government agency. Congress makes the laws.

You need to decide if you’re talking about Congress’s laws (which courts can declare invalid and unconstitutional) or Trump’s directives.

If the Trump administration is violating someone’s constitutional rights, what should they do? They go to court to get a ruling to tell the executive they can’t do that.

Who else is there to protect our rights against “the will of the voters” as you put it.
