Zone1 Jon Stewart questions the transgender protections in Arkansas

Here’s the proper response:

Minors cannot consent to permanent bodily-altering treatments. Do not lie and say that “puberty-blockers” do no permanent harm or alterations to the body of someone who changes their mind - your bones will fuse at a particular time and you reintroducing the proper hormones at a late time will be too late, and depending on how long you do this, your fertility will be altered. And chopping off a teen girl’s boobs is permanent, sorry. They can get breast implants which are cosmetic and incredibly expensive, but they will never lactate. That is permanent damage.

Adults can choose to have elective cosmetic surgery. Adults can choose to legally change their name.

Minors cannot give informed consent and anyone trying to push this on them is abusing children and should be at minimum condemned in as harsh verbal terms as possible, but if this is insufficient to stop the behavior then criminal codes can be adjusted to dissuade them further.

Stewart is so irrelevant and his Apple show is so unwatchable, it's not funny.

And that comes from someone who was a watcher of The Daily Show.

Arnold Schwarznegar set the stage for the focus on trans by calling Democrats "girly men"

I think that is sad that kids are turning a short term fad into a lifetime of pain and regret. Do kids think anymore?
Most cannot because the last stage of brain development has yet to occur. Current research into ages and stages of brain development shows logical capabilities (within the frontal lobe) occurs around age 25, and not before for most. Kids should not be making elective, physically altering surgery decisions until fully understanding long-term consequences and full understanding about a myriad of related requirements for life to maintain a sex change.

Any parent who thinks that a teenager should be free to make this life altering decision needs to read about post-surgery regret from those who made their decision an a younger age. Any reader in doubt please search: young people following gender surgery regretting their decision. There are support groups forming specifically for these people. One female who has regretted her hormonal decision said that she had zero support from the LBGTQ community. It appears the spokespeople for LBGTQ need to revise any claims made about supporting “choices for all”. It’s not accurate.

John Stewart referenced such a cringe argument logically, but that the left constantly uses and thinks they're scoring points with..

"But people are killing themselves..."

Yes, they are, which is tragic. However, stepping on graves is a horrible way to debate, and from recent data suicide rates don't seem to go down post-transition anyways. These people are sadly troubled within, rates and depression are getting worse despite society so often lofting them up as the most brave of all. Shouldn't things be getting better in the trans community? A lack of nurturing is clearly not the problem.

The left thinks giving a 12 year old surgery is a "treatment"... when the right views acceptance of what you are naturally is a "treatment".

I always ask leftists; If your 12 year old child came to you and said "I want to tattoo my entire face".. would you let them?

All of the experts are sitting next to Mr Stewart. The state of arkansas dosnt seem to have any credibility in this.

It is never as simple as you are stating.
On the one hand you have a youngster who wants to change sex. Most parents would want to disuade them from that.
But by doing so the child becomes depressed and possibly suicidal.
We would all prefer a kid who changes sex to a dead child.
Arkansas is taking that option away from families.
Its well intentioned but brutal.

Transgender is the new hip thing, you have parents who want to be all in on it, and if that means chemically castrating their kids so be it.

You downplay a serious issue. Parents in that situation should get support not flip comments from the ignorant.
Something that Arkansas has neglected to do.

The support they get now is just encourage their kids no matter what. The assumption is to let them do whatever they feel. It's like being OK with your kid playing in the street just because they feel like it.

It's just a sick fad among sick people, period. Left wingers could care less about 'dead kids', they just use them to make false analogies and lies, is all.

Keep in mind that that is the same side that supports abortion, a process by which millions of innocent children are brutally murdered every year. Any claim on their part to give a shit about any child's safety, health, or well-being is pure bullshit.

A Brit presuming to tell us Americans how to run our country is now telling us that one of our own legitimate bodies of government has no credibility.
