Joe, shower us with money and win our love

Waaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more stupid. Your position actually implies that.
It isnt a strawman. You said people keeping more of THEIR OWN MONEY is the govt giving them money. Obviously, that is completely illogical.
Do you think so? It isn't possible for instance that I was saying that if the government spends X- amount of money that X-amount of money should actually be funded by taxation not by the pipedream that tax breaks for companies cause them to "trickle it down" and not simply using it as extra profit, resulting in economic growth, and causing it to magically fund itself?

I know it's a radical thought but think it through.

No. If thats what you were trying to say, you definitely need to work on your terminology.
Maybe try google translate.

I don't think it's necessary. Maybe you can point out what I said that is in contradiction to it since you are denying it is possible?

I'm not entirely sure an American should lecture anyone on being deeply unhappy with their fellow citizens. It will be a long time before the Belgian parliament will look like this.

So no one protests in Belgium. Too fcking funny.

.

Sure

Have fun with google translate. I can also do it in French or German if you so choose.

Noone breaks into our parliament, injures 140 cops, and tries to stop the certification of the election results.

No you just can't form a government for some two (2) years after the election - and it has happened in other elections. Talk about dysfunctional.

.

Yes, they OWN the taxes I paid them. They don't OWN the rest of my money. Just like Panasonic has a right to the money you paid them for a TV.

Does not match your earlier statement. You can't "give" them their own money.

As opposed to giving trillions in tax breaks to millionaires you mean? Or is that not showering corporations with money?

I didn't say you can. I said that if you pay taxes you get services in exchange for those taxes. Post 18.

My corporation pays considerably more taxes than American ones, I pay considerably more taxes than Americans.

So, one person goes to college has to pay for the entire tuition. the other person gets a full scholarship.

Careful. Any "free" college won't be free for everyone, only for some.
On the other hand me and my family can afford things that frankly aren't affordable to most Americans.

Maybe, but many more Americans by percentage are well off and can afford a luxury lifestyle as compared to citizens of other countries mainly because we reward hard work and not complacency. The Democrats are hard at work to change this, but for now, that is still the case.

Yeah, we know. Europeans learn multiple languages. You live on a continent where each country is about the size of our states. If folks in a neighboring state didn't speak English, I would likely need to learn another language as well. Lucky for us, our native language is the international language of choice. I hate to sound so ethnocentric, but let's face it, English is the cat's meow. I will leave it to those that speak less popular languages, which is ALL of them, to get on board instead of the other way around.

Very much depends on what you like. I rather have most of the population capable of living comfortably and relatively free of financial worries than a few percent more that can live in luxury. So I would argue would most people.

The only reason it even came up was that TNHarley felt the need to make a little fun of my language skills. I don't mind him doing so but to me, it seems like bringing a knife to a gunfight, and I consider turnabout at that point fair game.

It is much more than a few percent. The ultra-wealthy aside, those in the upper-middle to upper classes can afford much nicer homes and other things than the average European. Personally, I would rather live in a country where my hard work is rewarded vs paying for someone else not to work and at the same time living in the same apartment building or similar home. To each his own.

Sorry DBA from personal experience I know that is BS. My mother-in-law was upper-middle class. An RN in NY. Made good money, was well insured, had a nice house and savings. Ended up with none of that because she had to take early retirement because of shitty post-op care. Was in and out of hospitals for a decade before dying.

Most of her family is the same, clean-cut all-American family of certain means. In Europe, they would even be considered rich. When I visit I'm always struck by the financial worries they still face. Simply by virtue that their financial future always seems insecure.

So you need government to take care of you. Sad that you can't grow-up and accept your responsibilities.

.

The government that represents the people has come up with thousands of groundbreaking discoveries, taxpayer-funded and a lot of which FACILITATE the groundbreaking discoveries people make. Without government, no internet, no grants to projects that haven't got easy to see cost benifit.

Government never comes up with anything, other than new ways to fleece the taxpayers out of their money. Granted, the government has a propensity for throwing a shitload of money into different things. But the majority of groundbreaking innovations were accomplished through the private sector, with private investors.

Take fracking for instance: For the first time in this country's history, we actually became a "net exporter" of oil and gas. Do you even know what that means? That means that we were exporting more oil and gas than we were importing.

Now please if you would, explain to me how your precious "government" had a hand in that? They didn't. In fact, your idiotic "government" under Crappy-Pants McBiden decided to nix a pipeline that would have made us more energy-independent while at the same time, giving Russia the nod to begin their own pipeline.

Fuck your government in the ass.

On the contrary. Not only do I accept responsibility for myself and my family. I accept that I have a responsibility to the society I live in. That is actually what patriotism is. Not pride in a flag or an anthem but a sense of being part of a larger whole and the responsibility that goes with that.

I believe that everybody regardless of their or their family's financial status should have the opportunity to make something of themself and I accept that that requires certain things from me.

Joe Biden is doing the same to the country that he did to his corrupt son--throwing money at him to win his love.
Buying the useful idiots on the bottom, while bankrupting the middle class with taxes...in the end all will starve. It's the socialist/communist way and the way it always ends up. Cuba and Venzuela here we come.
