Wow that was nice of him.When I was a young child we packed up in our Ford station wagon and drove back from Seattle to the huge wheat and corn and hog farm. Gramps initial intention was to offer it to my parents if they would become active farmers. We inspected the houses barns and gain storage facilities. All I can remember was that it was suffocating hot and I hated it. No mountains, No Pacific ocean. The land was flat..for hundreds of miles. We were not cut out to be instant mega farmers. My parents decline was not as generous as my grandfather's resolution to the matter. Instead he bought my family 162 acres on Orcas Island in the American San Juans near Deer Harbor Washington.
