/----/ In NYC in the 70s I recall stories of how fires were set in the hood, and when firefighters arrived, the gangs would take potshots at them. After that the police were called in at every fire there to protect the fire department. No one ever offered a rational reason why they would do that.

Pretty sure it's "Popeye's" in the south.
I always associated Popeye with spinach, but somehow with them it's fried chicken.
Popeye's/Bojangles is like Checkers/Rally's. I think..could be wrong.

Here in Texas, I think they tried to open a Bojangles around Dallas sometime, years back.
I don't think they lasted long.......never got customers I expect.

Too many established dineresque places here to eat. New ones trying to move in never last.
