If we all had reason, we wouldn't have the atrocities that have been committed throughout history.
They were all more religous than you or I.If we all had reason, we wouldn't have the atrocities that have been committed throughout history.
There is no historical reason to believe that. The Nazis weren't particularly religious and the Soviet and Chinese Communists were nominally atheist. Yet, between them, the managed to slaughter a hundred million or more.
NoAre you drinking?
Let me know if I can helpIt's okay if you are, just saying because the last post especially, is incomprehensible.
It's okay. I just need to take more time reading them to understand what you're saying...
I can hardly wait.I'll get back to you next week....
like I said before...The definition of reason is a cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event. The definition of purpose is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. In a logical universe every cause has an effect which means it happens for a reason and serves some purpose. Now you may not agree with the purpose it served but that purpose has a knock on effect as does that knock on effect. You do not have perfect knowledge so you can’t see or even understand how it works for good. Which is why you keep seeing things emotionally instead of objectively. Which is how you end up making ridiculous arguments like “Purpose is what religions do with it to fool us. Because the only purpose is to fight for them. To help them get more powerful.”Reason is the physical law. Purpose is what religions do with it to fool us. Because the only purpose is to fight for them. To help them get more powerful.Let's talk about logic.Umm... Evolution? Science? Logic?Which subsequent discoveries?Did you know that Thomas Jefferson, John Locke and Alexander Hamilton believed that we have inalienable rights for no other reason than we are God’s creatures and that we have a duty and an obligation to God?Yes, but they still relied on religion at the time. We're a little clearer on the subject today due to subsequent discoveries.Did you know that Thomas Jefferson, John Locke and Alexander Hamilton believed that we have inalienable rights for no other reason than we are God’s creatures and that we have a duty and an obligation to God?
And how does that change your problem that you have no standing to override bad governments? It doesn’t. You are shit out of luck.
If we examine the physical laws we discover that we live in a logical universe governed by rules, laws and information. Rules laws and information are a signs of intelligence. Intentionality and purpose are signs of intelligence. The definition of reason is a cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event. The definition of purpose is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. The consequence of a logical universe is that every cause has an effect. Which means that everything happens for a reason and serves a purpose. The very nature of our physical laws point to reason and purpose.
Yes, if we all were objective and had no preference for an outcome and ignored the consequences to ourselves and did the right thing for the right reason the right way we would see objective truth which is exactly what Jesus and every world redeemer taught. If we all had reason, we wouldn't have the atrocities that have been committed throughout history.
Yes, people do ignore reason. No, it's not because of religion. It is due to moral relativism which is due to subjectivity. But somehow everyone ignores reason, that believes in a religion.
Not exactly. Morals and ethics are based upon reason. Morals are effectively standards. For any given thing there exists a standard which is the highest possible standard. This standard exists independent of anything else. It is in effect a universal standard. It exists for a reason. When we deviate from this standard and normalize our deviance from the standard, eventually the reason the standard exists will be discovered. The reason this happens is because error cannot stand. Eventually error will fail and the truth will be discovered. Thus proving that morals cannot be anything we want them to be but are indeed based upon some universal code of common decency that is independent of man.So reason is like morals and values and ethics.
Also wrong. Again, for any organization there will be a distribution. You are ignoring the good. Your view of history and religion is unbalanced. You are literally proving my point about subjectivity.Just doesn't exist in militant religions like the trilogy religions... All you know revolves around killing others and genocide. That's how you got where you are today.
If you were a Buddhist, you wouldn't be arguing against someone else's religion or faith. So you becoming a Buddhist would be an improvement over your being a militant atheist. So if you really want reason, and morals, and ethics, and values, you should try something else.
I recommend Buddhism.
Am I wrong? The purpose of religion throughout history is to create followers and armies. To make money and power for the rulers.like I said before...The definition of reason is a cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event. Can you be more emotional?
I like Buddhism. But I have no reason to change just because I would like to believe in something. I'm ok with what I have. And that's science and logic. If you were a Buddhist, you wouldn't be arguing against someone else's religion or faith. So you becoming a Buddhist would be an improvement over your being a militant atheist. So if you really want reason, and morals, and ethics, and values, you should try something else.

Your religion exists because they killed and tortured those who didn't believe. Converted the ones who didn't want to die, and the rest after were born that way. What a way for a religion to roll...Not exactly. Morals and ethics are based upon reason. Morals are effectively standards. For any given thing there exists a standard which is the highest possible standard. This standard exists independent of anything else. It is in effect a universal standard. It exists for a reason. Christians dont hate JewsJesus was a Jew. Why do some Christians and Muslims hate Jews?
The racism that many show against Jews, must by definition include Jesus, as he only taught Jewish traditions along with his criticisms of it. This included the Jewish esoteric and mystical teachings similar to Gnostic Christian thinking. Jesus’ forte.
Yahweh chose to have the Jews and Romans sacrifice Jesus and thus the Jews hold no blame.
Yahweh loved the Jews and it seems counter intuitive to have religions like Christianity and Islam, who have usurped the Jewish Yahweh and Jesus from the Jews, to try to take the Jew out of Jesus and hating that Jewishness.
Jewry is the root and patriarch of Christianity and Islam, yet those religions do not seem to respect their own Jewish roots.
Roots should be revered. Christians and Muslims do not love or respect their religious fathers and mothers; so to speak.
Jesus was a Jew.
Why do some Christians and Muslims hate Jews?
