In the Kingdom of Israel (Israel and Judea), males were circumcised and people married and gave in marriage, their progeny perpetuating the kingdom. Physical markers identified it. Christ was not their king.....The Jews considered Him to be king, as Palestine at the time was ruled by Herrod, who was loyal to the Romans and not the Jews.

In God's kingdom of Israel, the New Jerusalem, physical markers do not identify the faithful. Christ is their king.
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. (Heb 11:16)
