Probably because it's meaning has been lost through time. Original sin is man's failure to take accountability.

Nothing silly about that. What's silly is how people read ancient man's answers to the origin question.

Because God can NOT be defeated and Jesus is God.


Jesus is the Word and "In the beginning was the Word
and . . . the Word was God" {John 1:1} . . .


. . . and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and He can not
be defeated by Sin, Satan, and Satan's sad selfish self-seeking sapiens.


Would you please seize . . . upon this mighty truth:


Jesus is NOW the most powerful Person in the Universe. John 13:3
John 3:35 John 5:22 Col. 2:9-10 Matt. 28:18 1 Cor. 15:24-25


And He was there when . . .


The Holy Trinity {Father, Son, Holy Spirit} created Andromeda, a galaxy
41,631,870 miles in diameter {67 kiloparsecs} which is only one of a few
hundred billion galaxies in the Universe ~ by the way Andromeda has an
estimated one trillion stars.


Speaking of stars . . .


Astronomers estimate there are between 30 to 70 billion trillion stars in the
Universe. The Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit created it all.


So? So They are powerful. They can not be defeated.

You are making it more complicated than it needs to be or how that account intended it to be. Man by virtue of being a physical being who knows and creates has knowledge of good and evil. That was always going to be the case no matter what. The account of the fall of man is about how one responds to doing wrong or making mistakes. That was the point of that account.

Adam and Eve are allegorical. So is Noah. They aren't historical figures.

I have never read that list before, but its good. I don't understand 10. How do you rationalize when you have done wrong?

Examples of rationalizing/justifying instead of acknowledging wrongdoing:
1. In politics, one party denies fault, then blames their opponent as a deflection or distraction. There are other threads on this symbolic pattern of "Adam blaming Eve" instead of admitting shared responsibility for consequences of their actions that caused fallout to occur.

2. In religious conflicts, you can see examples on this thread of "the pot calling the kettle black". One side believes they have the right concept of God's laws while blaming an outside person or group for teaching false religion, attacking the right views, and deluding themselves or misleading others. They even accuse each other of deliberately undermining for devious or destructive reasons.
So instead of admitting they are both unfairly accusing the other of ill intent, when both sides are actually concerned the other is causing problems by teaching falsely and acting in bad faith, they both insist it is the OTHER person/group that is in the wrong, not them!

Again surada How ironic to watcg these same people debating "why blame Eve" as a scapegoat (when either Adam was equally responsible or NEITHER should have been punished if they were set up to fail, etc. Etc etc) while they, themselves, fall into the same pattern of pointing the finger and saying "but it is that other person/group" teaching the wrong thing and needs to be called out.

This is part of the human spiritual process of growth, awareness and development.

Humans have this frustrating tendency to point out faults in their neighbors while not admitting or responding to their own areas of corrections!

God is not making progress because of the human condition doesn't reflect on his state of existence in the modern world or in the time frame of today. According to scripture God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

The Bible seems quite clear in stating the human condition. A book in the Old Testament notes there is a time for everything--a time for joy, a time to weep. A time to build up, yet a time for what has been built to tumble down. In the New Testament Jesus mentions the same conditions: The sorrowful will be happy, the fat, not so much. They had their day in the sun. Speaking of sun, this planet has its seasons, and so does everything that lives upon it.

We may now be living in a crumbling time, but the Bible tells us, we will rebuild. The seasons tell us, Spring always comes. Those of us who have lived through great sorrow know that one day we laughed again. These truths are the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Our time today does not portend the end of the world and the second coming. It simply means we are facing bad times, which means we are blessed. They may get worse, it is possible, but we will come out of it. We always have.

Fortunate or unfortunate, religion is dying. It's a relic of past necessity. And now we replace that necessity for definition, explanation, and structure with more fitting systems. Time to see how that turns out.
