The Levites received 48 cities and adjacent pasture lands by allotment from the other tribes. These cities and lands didn't revert back to the tribes every fifty years. Interestingly, the lands that the other tribes possessed were also "allotments" from God, who was the actual owner of those lands (as well as all other lands).

Property (homes) owned by the Levites within these cities, if sold, could be redeemed at any time, or would revert to the Levites in the Jubilee year. Pasture lands outside of the city could not be sold by the Levites and remained in their possession as an allotment not subject to the Jubilee.

Redeemed means BOUGHT BACK---not reclaimed, OUTSIDE of the city means---not part of the
other tribes ETERNAL INHERITED LAND---thus the tribe of Levi was eternally LANDLESS--if they
couldn't pay---they were landless----kinda like lost to taxes whereas the allotment of inherited
land was forever

I'm glad you brought that up, because just the other day I was listening to a talk by Matthew King, and he brought up a really good point which was pretty much the same thing you just said.

He said that the root of the problem and why humanity acts the way they do in regard to animals is pride. Humanity is so prideful that we are "above" the animals, and that pride and arrogance is the root of the carnist mentality. And we know what the Bible says about pride. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18) It's the exact opposite attitude that God wants us to have in regard to the animals.

So yeah, what you said and that video you linked to is soooo true.

got right. How about going to church on Sunday-----or forcing prohibition?----I won't get into the really unsavory ways of attaining "SALVATION"----historically. Personally---I am in a quest to find

So of course Jesus was angry about the buying and selling going on in the Temple. But in my view, it goes deeper than that. There was so much bloodshed going on in the Temple because of the animal sacrifices, as well as caged animals... and I think it's very clear that Jesus wanted to put an end to that, once and for all. And of course as Christians we know that He DID put an end to it, because Jesus became the "once for all" final sacrifice

A long time ago I lived in Perrysburg Ohio for a decade. It was the start when Muslims were moving in.

I shared an apartment with a Christian friend, and our neighbors were 4 Arab Muslims.

I wasn't home at the time, but my roommate was.

He heard a lot of noise from their apartment and he went over to see what was going on.

One of the 4 Arabs came out of the bathroom holding a large blood stained knife. He was also drenched in blood!

My roommate told me he looked so stereotypically Arab.

The guy holding the knife told him they bought a sheep and slit it's throat in the bathtub.

My roommate went to look and he said there was blood EVERYWHERE!

I Never saw any of this, but when he told me about it all I said to him was, "fucking savages!"

I liked these guys before this but that changed my opinion of them forever.

I sure can't see God thinking this behavior represents Him at all
