I was listening to an interview with him this morning. Harrison being the chairman of the DNC. He was asked about the DNC's role in pushing back against the "big lie." Part of his answer included him expressing the hope rational members of the POT (Party of Trump) would "stand up against the fringe of the party and take it back." Implying those in the party who are believers in the lies about election fraud, and the "big lie" that Trump won the election, are on the fringe. Jamie Harrison got it wrong.

The "big lie" is now one of the organizing principles around which the POT is formed. It allows them to see Old Joe as an illegitimate prez. It affords them the justification to pass voter suppression bills around the country. Texas has even gone so far as to promote the idea of a two tier registration program designed to "evade federal voting rights laws that could pass into law this year."
Texas Republicans Want a Two-Tier Registration System

There are even those who overtly promote a "nationalist" agenda.

WASHINGTON — A group of ultraconservative House Republicans, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., are discussing launching an "America First Caucus" that would protect "Anglo-Saxon political traditions."

Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, told reporters Friday that he's "looking at" joining.

"There is an America First Caucus," he said, confirming that Greene is involved.

The formation of a caucus could be another sign of an emboldened faction of House Republicans who are known for nativist ideas and have been criticized by Democrats as racist.

Harrison made the point, and I agree, there are still reasonable people who are members of the POT. But they are being ostracized and marginalized. They are labeled "anti-Trumpers" or dismissively referred to as "establishment" Repubs. Those are badges of honor, yet seen as reasons for scorn by the majority of the party. A party that has devolved in to obstructionists with few ideas for moving the country forward. Conspiracy theorists who voted for a man who thinks his opponent's dad was part of the JFK assassination plot. Science deniers who refuse to acknowledge the overwhelming scientific evidence of man made climate change. And so blind to reality that they believe a rally organized to prevent carrying out the peaceful transfer of power, that turned violent, was warranted.

..the big lie is racism and police brutality .....
Old Joe is an idiot POTUS --destroying the US
---I agree, there are still some reasonable people who are members of the POB...but most are sheeple like the Germans who followed hitler

No problem with Repubs raking in millions of campaign donations based on spreading the "big lie?"

The politicians who bet big on backing President Trump’s election lies are raking in the benefits.
Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz announced Tuesday that he’d raised $5.3 million in the first three months of this year, a massive sum for a senator who isn’t up for reelection until 2024.
Missouri GOP Sen. Josh Hawley raised $3 million during that same stretch, his team leaked on Monday. That figure likely would have been even higher if he hadn’t paused active fundraising for three weeks in the immediate aftermath of the Jan. 6 pro-Trump insurrection at the U.S. Capitol; that stretch brought in $600,000.

Don't tell me you fell for Trump's America First canard! It was a slogan he used while he put himself first and America last.

Any thoughts on why TX Repubs want to avoid federal voting rights laws?

WASHINGTON, D.C.—A new bill proposed by Republican representatives in Texas would essentially create a two-tiered voter registration system, in an effort to evade federal voting rights protections that could pass into law this year. HB 4507 establishes two different registration processes: one for federal elections, which would be required to comply with national legislation such as the For the People Act, and one for state elections, which Texas Republicans claim could ignore these federal requirements. Any voter registering to vote in a federal election would not be automatically registered for local and state elections, unless they meet the much stricter and more exclusionary requirements of Texas’s Election Code. Instead, they would have to apply and register again separately for their local elections.
