James Talarico for President

Key Political Positions
  • Opposition to Christian Nationalism: He is a vocal critic of Christian nationalism, calling it "a cancer on our religion" and "idolatrous". He strongly opposes policies like mandating the Ten Commandments in public schools.
  • Healthcare: Driven by his own diagnosis with Type 1 diabetes, he successfully passed legislation capping insulin copays at $25 a month in Texas. He supports expanding Medicaid and making healthcare a human right.
  • Education: As a former teacher, he advocates for increased public school funding and opposes school vouchers, which he views as defunding public education.
  • Immigration: He supports a "secure border" combined with a pathway to citizenship. He often uses the metaphor that the southern border should be treated like a "front porch" with a "welcome mat" but also a "lock on the door".
  • Gun Control: Following mass shootings in Texas, he has been a prominent voice for stricter gun control laws, arguing that "thoughts and prayers" without action are "cynical".
  • Democracy Reform: He supports automatic voter registration, repealing voter ID laws, and imposing term limits on members of Congress.
  • Foreign Policy: Talarico supports a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine, opposes offensive U.S. aid to Israel, and has called for an end to conflicts through negotiations.

What is his policy on prayer rooms for Muslims? Bet you won’t see him speak on that..

Paid for by who?

  • Education: As a former teacher, he advocates for increased public school funding and opposes school vouchers, which he views as defunding public education.

More school funding, ok, there’s something we are on the same page about.

  • Immigration: He supports a "secure border" combined with a pathway to citizenship. He often uses the metaphor that the southern border should be treated like a "front porch" with a "welcome mat" but also a "lock on the door".

Ruh roh, he just lost 50% of the democratic vote..welp, it was a good campaign while it lasted…

  • Gun Control: Following mass shootings in Texas, he has been a prominent voice for stricter gun control laws, arguing that "thoughts and prayers" without action are "cynical".

Does this include for himself?

  • Democracy Reform: He supports automatic voter registration, repealing voter ID laws, and imposing term limits on members of Congress.

Term limits in good for, however, if he wants auto voter registration, and no voter ID, let’s wait until we import 20 million likely republicans voters, then we’ll talk.

  • Foreign Policy: Talarico supports a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine, opposes offensive U.S. aid to Israel, and has called for an end to conflicts through negotiations.

Ok, if they can’t coexist together then give them their own countries.

He's toast.

I haven’t seen such a young charismatic candidate for Dems in 20 years.
In 2006 an unknown young state senator from Illinois named Barack Obama ran for the U.S. Senate and leveraged it into the Presidency.
James Talarico is a young state senator from Texas who is running for the U.S. Senate. I haven’t seen such a religious candidate for the Democrats in my lifetime. He quotes scripture and has a Masters in Divinity Studies.
Talarico is drawing big crowds in Texas and is able to reach across the aisle.

I saw a little of him on the Late Show or something, and he looked stiff and uncomfortable.

You don't know his policies, do you.
Yes I do

Talarico opposes forced religion in the curriculum and on the walls of the school

He supports students being religious regardless of their faith

Christians aren't going to be fooled by this socialist.
While I agree in love they neighbor as thyself, I don't believe in forcing my other neighbors to do the same. IOW: the government should not be doing it.

And healthcare is not and never has been a basic human right to be protected by government.

Correct. He's a fake. People like you who put all beliefs in the same basket fall for these wolves.
