Not our problem. Trump was right the first time, we have plenty of our own oil.

I see that Qatar, Saudi, Bahrain, and Iraq can have their oil flow stopped. The could pay the toll, or truck their oil to UAE or Oman to bypass the Strait. Or they could stand up to Iran, their choice.

Just in Iraq, Biden left the Taliban almost 400 million dollars worth of military gear.

Many countries need that oil from the Hormuz strait.
They either pay the toll to Iran or go for regime change.
So far paying the toll is winning, it won't last, people are already protesting.

And it's not really impacting our actual oil supplies, just the costs due to speculation and jitters.

Correct. If whoever is in charge of Iran says right now, "Okay we're scared! The Strait is open for free!" cost could still stay up due to their percieved ability to close it at will.

Ending our dependance is the answer.
