Many countries need that oil from the Hormuz strait.
They either pay the toll to Iran or go for regime change.
So far paying the toll is winning, it won't last, people are already protesting.

Correct. If whoever is in charge of Iran says right now, "Okay we're scared! The Strait is open for free!" cost could still stay up due to their percieved ability to close it at will.

Actually, I think it's a good idea to have every country in the Middle East be our friends and Israel's friends, leaving Iran all by themselves.
