Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 13. The Israeli Air Force launched missile strikes, as part of Operation Lion Rising, on dozens of military targets in Tehran related to Iran's nuclear program. The strikes targeted the uranium enrichment plant in Natanz, presumably destroying the nuclear reactor there. Some media reported an increase in radiation levels in the area. The strikes targeted ammunition depots and ballistic missile launchers. Iranian oil refineries in the cities of Tabriz and Kermanshah were also attacked. Residential areas of Iranian nuclear physicists were attacked, killing between 3 and 6 people. The strike also killed Iranian IRGC commander Hossein Salami and Iranian Chief of General Staff Mohammad Bagheri. Before the attack, the Israeli Mossad carried out a series of sabotage operations in Iran, disabling some radars and air defense systems. Iran has already scrambled MiG-29 fighters from Tehran's Mehrabad air base. The Israeli army ordered the call-up of thousands of reservists after the operation began.
