Drones are controlled remotely. US drones are controlled by soldiers viewing video screens in an outpost in rural Nevada.

The question I have is if a soldier on drone detail slips on a banana peel or otherwise is injured while going to the restroom, does he qualify for a purple heart as he was injured in combat?
