It has offered to relinquish its presence on this land in return for a lasting peace and negotiated borders. This only leaves two nations to negotiate peace with, and they are Syria and Lebanon. If you look at all the UN resolutions there is no mention of Palestine, because it has no legal standing as a nation until it agrees peace terms and land swaps. Those are the facts that you find so hard to understand, Israel is acting in accordance with International law and the Geneva conventions at every step. The land that Lebanon claims, Syria annexed and was in Syrian control when Israel won it. Syria has to renounce any claim to the farms for Israel to return them to Lebanon. They were annexed in '51 though syria has occupied them since '49.
