Is Rick Scott deliberately slow in disclosing the Hurricane Michael death toll?

It's hard not to think that Republican Governor Rick Scott (engaged in a close battle for the Senate against Bill Nelson) is dragging his feet on purpose, if we read this new article in a Tallahassee newspaper entitled "In Florida, a slow wait for news on hurricane’s death toll":

"The state has officially acknowledged just two deaths so far – and one death was in northeast Florida, far from the ground-zero fury of the Category 4 storm."
...
Also,
"But both Long and Gov. Rick Scott, however, sidestepped questions late Sunday* after they returned from an all-day trip to some of the hard-hit communities."
...

The state is saying that the medical examiner had no water or power for a long time so he hasn't been able to count much:

"Part of the problem state emergency officials say is that the medical examiner office responsible for certifying deaths in several of the hardest-hit counties was without power or water until Monday."

How convenient. Is Rick Scott waiting until the day after the midterms to issue an updated count?
By the way, the FEMA chief has a motive for secrecy as well. After all, this is Trump's FEMA.

Let me guess, he is hiding thousands and thousands of dead people? Could it not be that they may need to try and contact friends and family, you know, make sure there is an actual body to count before it’s counted? I know you sheep are trained to get the sensational stuff before the facts, but you will just have to wait. That aside, Rick Scott comes off as a kid toucher.

It's a cover-up. News is trickling out that the situation down there is much worse than officially acknowledged.

big deal , major 'Act of God' catastrophe and events trickle out of the Disaster area kinda slowly i would think Crep !!

Of course Governor Scott is covering up the real death toll, after all as every left wing dingbat knows, Hurricane Michael was yet another Republican plot to suppress the minority vote.

There is fact to the OP's message. As of right now, there are 19 confirmed dead and an estimated 46 missing. The residents of the Florida panhandle where Michael hit are getting frustrated by the inaction of both the federal and state state governments;

In Florida, a slow wait for news on hurricane’s death toll

In Florida, determining hurricane death toll proves elusive

Hurricane Michael: Dozens still missing on Florida coast
`

Same thing happens here and everywhere else hurricane happen. People take off and have to be hunted down. After Ike the news went nuts about hundreds being killed, yet two weeks later all the missing people were accounted for. There is no fact in the OP’s post, only speculation.

Are you suggesting that Rick Scott tied people to telephone poles just before the hurricane made landfall?
Instead of riding the wave of disaster to push your political agenda focus on the media blackout about the looting.

Why don’t you go walk amongst the wreckage?
If you guarantee that Rick Scott will stop dragging his feet if I walk among the wreckage, I’ll do it.
No, really...take a walk through the wreckage and we’ll see how quickly you can get things done. There are pieces of wreckage that probably weigh tons and have sharp edges and you’re expecting the Legion of Super Heroes to show up.

You should do the same. The Op is 100% speculation and conspiracy theories. Typical hyperbolic crap spewed by retards who live in Minisota.

This reminds me of the Puerto Rico fiasco. I put nothing beyond Rick Scott or the Trump Administration.

For those that live in Florida welcome to the new state of Floririco.

CAN you provide PROOF that Scott is dragging his feet? Where is your proof?

So far 19 people IN 4 STATES.... so how is Scott hiding Florida deaths???
Hurricane Michael death toll grows to 19 after body found in Mexico Beach
That brings the death toll from the storm to 19 people in four states.
City Manager Tanya Castor had earlier said residents would be allowed back in Tuesday. She told CNN's Martin Savidge that officials hope to have electricity up and running on the east side of town in weeks, rather than months.
