Is it right to blame JD Vance for Orban's loss?

It probably didn't help but is also a minor factor if it had an effect. The main reasons is corruption scandals, the support for Putin vs EU, the general falling behind it's neihgbours and the fact that Orban has just become the stale old establishment guy.
I'm not Hungarian but I know 3 things about them:

1. They are generally nationalist-minded and like Orban giving the finger to big bad EU officials.
2. They hate Russia.
3. They are the most EU-positive country in the EU.

Point 1 and populist policies kept him in power for a lot of years but his fall was inevitable when considering point 2 and 3.

Key statements by the winner of the Hungarian election:
-Budapest will continue to purchase Russian oil.
-Will not participate in the EU loan for Ukraine.
-Opposed to Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the EU.
-Hopes that the EU will lift sanctions against Russia after the war.
-Demands that Kyiv resolve the issue of the language law and allow the Hungarian minority to legally use the Hungarian language.

It appears that Orbán has prepared a worthy successor for himself.
