Anyone with half a brain has been told how to react to this virus. If you are in a vulnerable group, avoid large crowds. Observe all sanitary protocols, especially washing hands. And if you exhibit any symptoms, stay away from people. How fucking hard is that to understand? Even for Democrats?

Large groups at say......the grocery store?

Especially the produce section where unsanitary customers have been spotted pawing over everything with their grubby hands.

We have a lot of people that do not stay home when they are sick and they sure do not keep their children at home when they are sick.

With corona virus people aren't even sick and crazy democrats want them to stay home.

You do not have to be ill to the spread virus. If you are infected, you can spread it through a cough, sneeze or even a touch.

And it lives on surfaces for two weeks.

That is misinformation. Both the CDC and the World Health Organization say 1 to 2 days. The factors that determine length of life outside the host include moisture, temperature, and the availability of other organic needed to multiple. Some viruses such the Norovirus can infect you after a week or more because it only takes a very smallest amount of the virus to infect a person and very little moisture to survive. The coronovirus is different. It begins dying after just a few hours on a completely dry non-porous surface. Given the fact that that some porous surface such as clothing may take a day or more to dry complete, the healthcare people are saying 1 to 2 day. However, the virus can not transmit as easily from soft porous surfaces such as clothing About the only way the virus is going to survive for weeks is in a petri dish where the moisture level, organic matter, and temperature can be controlled.

From what I have read, Coronavirus does not pose a serious health threat to most Americans. Children seem to be immune, and healthy adults experience mild flu-like symptoms or no symptoms at all. If this is true, why are we effectively quarantining our entire population rather than just those who are at risk of life-threatening illness?

Nope...just oldies. Who cares. Carry on.

How about those young doctor's in China that died and a 38 year old marathon runner in Italy? Once the count of active cases in U.S. hit 5000 or the hospital's are all filled and people dying at home then we will re visit the age groups.
