He wuz being funny..
Wow! I knew it was Anglo-Saxon when I was a teenager, back in the early 70's.
.
Come on now, Z.
.He wuz being funny.
Good one.![]()
I honestly thought that’s what it stood for….He wuz being funny.
The Dutch are related i.e. Germanic.
I just assumed it referred to those annoying, up-tight, upper middle class white suburbanites.
In my neck of the woods, such people are mostly of Dutch origin, not Anglo Saxon.
OkThe Dutch are related i.e. Germanic.
"No Virginia" or "Yes Virginia" is a widely used opening phrase when expressing skepticism or affirmation about something.no Virginia?
The term "Germanic" also seems specific but encompasses many seemingly different peoples and cultures that claim brotherhood or common ancestry, which of course was true.Ok
Anglo Saxon just seems weirdly specific
A fair point.I like my acronym better
More inclusive
WASP doesn't refer to Catholics pro or con or make any judgment about who is or is not Christian. It is a term applied most often to the early English settlers arriving on America's east coast. They were mostly Protestant seeking religious freedom from the tyranny of the then authoritarian Anglican Church in England. Very few, if any, of those first settlers were Catholic.it is wrong that only Protestants are Christian and that Catholics are not.
