"Andrew Yang insisted to Fox News this week that his “small army of very, very, smart lawyers” assures him his pitch to give 10 random families $1,000 per month -- to spotlight his plan for a universal basic income for all adult Americans -- “is perfectly legal.”

But some leading campaign finance experts are taking issue with the Democratic presidential candidate’s provocative promotion and say it’s likely Yang’s breaking campaign finance laws."

The very big problem with Yang's claim that his 'promotion' is legal is the fact that federal law prohibits campaign contributions from being used for personal purposes....such as personal 'political experiments', buying votes, or the families he gives the money to using that money for groceries, gas for their cars, etc...

....not sure legally what that leaves for the money to be spent on.....

Yang has a lot of attorney, he can give money to anyone he wants. And since tramp is lawless, well who are you to say anything about something that may be against the law, but its not.

Thank you for that poorly-thought-out and entirely un-substantiated emotional opinion, but you are wrong. As I pointed out in the very 1st post there are actually LAWS regarding this subject / what he is doing. Now, we all know Democrats - especially wealthy elitist Democrats - don't actually believe laws apply to them, just 'ordinary people', but that is still not the case.

Despite what the actual law says, donating one's own money / salary to charity or various agencies / organizations, when done by a Conservative / Republican, is 'lawless'; however, a Democrat using campaign donations / money to buy votes is perfectly legal....

:p

You know what is against the law, knowing you gave hush money to 2 female using campaign money.

Clinton lied about an affair, tramp paid hush money to 2 affairs' using campaign money.

Thank you, finally a post by you without that lawless nonsense.

Thank you AGAIN for ANOTHER ignorant emotional post...

A contract / agreement between 2 consenting adults is NOT illegal...and Trump was also a private citizen using his own money, liar...

....unlike Democrats in the Senate who engaged in sexual misconduct for decades...and instead of stopping it they formed a committee whose sole reason for existing was to pay for their victim's silence with tax dollars.

Now THAT is / was illegal, snowflake.

Buying votes is what the Democratic party does. I can not tell you if it is legal or not, but it's not out of the ordinary for the party.

Clinton lied about an affair, tramp paid hush money to 2 affairs' using campaign money.

Bill Clinton was / is a career sexual predator / perv who sexually harassed, sexually adsaulted, and raped women his entire political career, and Hillary was his ENABLER who intimidated, bullied, and silenced his victims.

Bill Clinton is also a pedophile who flew on board Epstein's 'pedo-plane' and visited 'Pedo-Island' numerous times....

Hmm, he is using campaign donations for this? I thought this was all personal money.

In any case, I'd he is giving 10 families 1000 per month using personal money, I'm not seeing a big issue as its negligible. However if its campaign cash, there could be some issues there.

However, its does give him one thing beyond what those 10 families represent, and that is notoriety. This could improve his image to many voters, cause he is being a "great guy!".
