I think obama is a marxist collectivist. He is also clearly an america-hater, why else would he be so determined to destroy our economy? Essentially, he is NOT Marxist or Socialist. He moves the means of production to an ever decreasing pool of mega corporations that have special legal protections and ties/responsibilities to the government. That is not socialism, it is statist.

no one said that Marx invented it, only that he believed in it. progressive income taxation is certainly redistributive.

I think Trojan Horse would be most accurate. In words, Obama proposes programs that would help the middle class thrive. In deeds, not so much.

really??? high unemployment helps the middle class? high taxes help the middle class? high fuel prices help the middle class? highest ever poverty rates help the middle class? highest ever numbers on food stamps help the middle class? a divided country helps the middle class? the war on coal helps the middle class? shipping jobs to china and mexico helps the middle class? open borders and amnesty helps the middle class?

Well when all the definitions, cute phrases and attempts to confuse are done and the smoke clears we find most of the world economies are a mixture of socialism and capitalism, and every nation has a system for the redistribution of wealth. We also find that few of us can define socialism beyond the dictionary definition, and some only use Marx's Scientific Socialism as the definition.
