Iran is not acting like a defeated nation despite Don's proclamations to the contrary.

Strike on U.S. Base in Saudi Arabia Injures 12 American Troops, 2 Seriously, Officials Say

Iran-Backed Houthis Enter War With Missile Attack on Israel

The Houthis, an Iranian-backed militant group in Yemen, announced on Saturday that they had launched a ballistic missile attack on Israel, appearing to open another front in the spiraling war in the Middle East.

And American casualties continued to rise as the war neared its second month: An Iranian strike on a military base in Saudi Arabia injured 12 U.S. troops, two of them seriously, two U.S. officials said Friday. It was one of the most serious breaches of American defenses since the war began.

It seems clear that Iran's strategy is to prolong the war, not end it, and in so doing inflict maximum damage on the global economy by keeping a stranglehold on cargo going thru the Strait. The latter being something the regime continues to pretend it anticipated. If it did, what was the plan to open the Strait to shipping traffic?

In the asymmetrical war that has developed Iran doesn't have to win in a conventional sense to achieve its goals. It just has to remain as an obstruction to normal, global commerce.

Since bludgeoning Iran to enact "unconditional surrender" was always a delusion and the ham handed diplomacy Don is trying with his merry band of misfits (Steve-a friend, Jared-a relative, Marco-an Iran hawk, and JD-a non interventionist) isn't working I'm struggling to see how this war ends. And even after it ends how the economic shock from it doesn't cause a global recession.

Beyond the question of how/when the war ends there's the matter of who Don blames for the disaster he created? You know, since he can't blame who is actually at fault.

The Japanese spent most of 1945 pretending they weren't defeated, look how well that worked for them.

I’m sure you are hoping for failure. I don’t think we should’ve gone there, however I want success and our soldiers home. Too bad some people put politics over country.

They've been planning for this moment for decades.

Evidently the only people on the planet who didn't know that were Trump, Hegseth, and the useful idiots.

I've grown accustomed to accusations of rooting for failure because I'm pointing out the reality of the situation.

A new oil shock is building. The next few weeks of war will be decisive for the economy.

The clock is ticking on the U.S.-Israeli war in Iran. The emerging view from oil industry executives and analysts is that the economic and market fallout from the war could escalate sharply if the Strait of Hormuz isn’t reopened within roughly the next one to three weeks. Even then, enough damage may have been done already to leave energy and many other prices higher for longer.

These risks haven’t been clearly reflected in some widely followed markets, including stocks broadly and the benchmark Brent crude price. Stopgap measures to soften the blow of the oil cutoff have kept crude prices relatively low in the U.S. and European markets. But when those measures lose their effectiveness in early-to-mid April, analysts warn there will be little the U.S. or other governments can do to keep energy prices from rising dramatically.

Do you know what the phrase, "Don't kill the messenger," means?

Lefties refuse to vilify Iran for pursuing a nuclear weapon…yet they crap on nuclear energy in the USA.

YOUR INCONSISTENCY IS CONSISTENT.

Yeah unless the US is willing to actually FIGHT A WAR ...which still has not actually happened....the definition of Victory and defeat will continue to be nebulous and largely undefined.

I know what it means but the joy in your posts are undeniable, you can pretend all you want but you want this to last until mid terms at the very least. Your past posts proof.

The clerics and Revolutionary Guard jihadi’s wont be defeated till the US seizes Kharg Island and cuts off Iran’s money supply

Let's be more specific. Don came to believe beating Iran was going to be easy. That Iran would capitulate quickly, or there would be a popular uprising taking over leadership. Neither thing happened.

Now he doesn't know what to do. I don't think he wants more US blood on his hands. He also doesn't want to make concessions to Iran at the negotiating table. So we're stuck. That was not anticipated by the ass clowns running the country.

This conflict continues unless or until Iran no longer controls the Strait. If bleeding them dry of money is the goal maybe Don shouldn't have allowed Iran to sell some of its oil.

Iran believes it has a winning strategy in blockading the Strait. So far they have been proven right. Members of the regime all keep pretending they knew what was coming. Yet they have no plan to fix it.

A caught fish will flop around until it finally gives up.
A toddler will kick and scream until finally giving up that they've been defeated.

Iran just in its final throws of a temper tantrum before dying or giving up.

I think we are working on reopening the Syrait

But just like the hesitation to use US troops to seize Kharg Island it may require boots on the ground along the coast of Iran

And thats to be avoided if possible

The Pentagon has already deployed the Air Force A-10 Warthog to attack both drone and manned speedboats

But it may not be enough

Hope so. They aren't giving any indication of giving up.

I think the planners expected a popular upriding by now to overthrow the mullahs

But Iran has no 2nd Amendment and the people have no guns
