Looks like the Democrats held America hostage for nothing. ICE has more many than ever to enforce our immigration laws.

Another huge fail for the anti-America party.

So then what is the problem with the Senate bill that passed? No funding for ICE, so damn what, right? So why was there a shutdown? There were no reforms in the Senate bill, Democrats got nothing except the continued denial of funding for ICE, which now you say they never needed anyway. Hell, their funded was "front loaded". What is the sticking point now?

******* voter reform, for real. Congressional Republicans want voter reform legislation attached, I mean that shit is everywhere now, like kudzu, sprouting out of every piece of legislation.

Ask Schutdown Schumer why he held America hostage fighting for illegals, and got nothing.

I told you and the board this, weeks ago, in a post where I pointed out, the big beautiful bill had given them 7.5 Times their previous funding level. Why did you think they we still able to operate when other parts of DHS like TSA were shut down? I said then, they would and could simply live within their funds.

Here is my unresearched unproven speculation. I suspect the fund was set up with not only the increased activity and operation expense of the mass deportation mission, possible shutdown in mind. In normal government spending, the accounts are filled up, but must be spent within the fiscal year, such as military. Money unspent, in accounts supposedly reverting back, returning to the general funds coffers. This is why you always see a lot of last minute spending spending in Sept and Oct, as it must be spent, under the use it or lose it theory. If not spent, you obviously did not need it, and it makes your department ripe for trimming the fat, next year. There is no buildup or carry over, leading to a lot of actually useless, frivolous spending. But, not the case on the ICE funding, this time around. They obviously got to keep it, like a departmental slush fund. In a pinch, unless disbanded, they should be good for the duration of Trump's term in office, whether they get another dime, and still spending at a higher rate, than they had ever been allowed, before.

Someone should tell Jefferies and Schumer.

Voter ID.

For some reason, Democrats don't want legal proof of voters who vote.

So you admit Schutdown Schumer held America hostage for nothing.

Cool.

Nostradumbass again has no idea what is budgeted. Let's let ChatGPT explain it to him since he is a nitwit.

1) What the BBB actually did

The BBB used a reconciliation process to pass a massive upfront investment in ICE:
  • ~$75 billion+ in new budget authority just for ICE
  • Designed to fund multi-year expansion (detention centers, technology, infrastructure)
  • Money is available over several years, not tied to one fiscal year
  • Critically: it does NOT depend on Congress passing annual budgets
👉 Think of this like prepaid capital + expansion funding

2) What the annual budget does

The regular appropriations (annual DHS budget):
  • Funds day-to-day operations each year
  • Pays salaries, facilities, ongoing programs
  • Can increase or decrease funding annually
  • Comes with more oversight and conditions
👉 Think of this like operating income / yearly P&L funding

Federal agencies like U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement must spend money exactly as Congress directed.
👉 That means:
  • Money for detention beds ≠ automatically usable for hiring agents
  • Multi-year funds ≠ automatically usable for annual operating gaps

Thanks for confirming the OP.

Is this the third time that Chuck Schumer has shut down the government for the benefit of illegal migrants?
