Iran is not Iraq nor is it Afghanistan. We struck now because the people of Iran initiated what was likely the largest civilian uprising against their government in almost 50 years. The timing was right. They want the regime gone and that is better for the entire world, but if any of those men are allowed to survive there will always be a chance they will find a way to regroup underground and still pursue terrorist activities outside of Iran. We cannot make that mistake.

There are millions of extremists, and more will join those ranks as long as we occupy their nation. We've made this mistake before.
