Except we aren't. Literally nothing has changed and Trump is trying to get out of his quagmire but Iran won't let him.

Nuke dust still in Iran
Nuke knowledge still in Iran.
Regime (like Venezuela) is still in charge.
Civilian populaiton still being oppressed.
Iran still chanting death to America.

Iran wants:
US out of the Middle East
Release frozen assets
No US bases in the GCC
No more serving as Bibi’s cannon fodder

Israel wants
Hegemony over the Middle East

What am I missing?

China is not a supplier of IDF weapons

We win a shooting war if china fails to take Taiwan and thereby total control of the South China Sea

Please elaborate

America more or less accept defeat and, step by step, leave Middle East. Israel, after Bibi get rotten in prison, became more or less Russian asset (there are a lot of Russian speakers and citizens of the Russian Federation). No big war. Russia and China settle all contraditions more or less peacefully. Petro-yuan system to control oil and "Gas OPEC" (Russia, Iran, Algeria, and Kuwait) to control 80% of gas.
America suffer some economic problems, but melting fat into brains and muscles and have may be forty years of peace to do any reforms they want and still is one of the world's leaders.
