So let me get this right... Through Government health care people will pay a fine for not having health care insurance, however the penalty will only be for those families who can afford to pay for it but do not... So who decides who can afford health care coverage? The Government?????

So the bottom line is health care will be similar to what it is now and cost about the same being that the people who can afford it are paying for those who can't, yet it will be run by the Government instead of by the individual......WTF??????

The Senate bill does not have these provisions, that is correct.

What will happen is, the Senate will pass a version, then the two versions will be combined behind closed doors and either given to the President to sign, or will be attached to an appropriations bill he will have to sign.

There's always a work-around.

I don't know where you're getting that people's attention hasn't been on this until recently.

And Krauthammer's opinion mirrors the populist opinion, but the thing is these Dems believe they will be safe come 2010, those who are actually running that is. They believe the economy will be recovered or sold as recovered, enough to get the sheep back into the pen.

The fear of getting voted out is highly overrated, especially when one realizes not all that many Dems are even up for re-election this time around.

They don't see the cliff, and those who do deny its existence.

But you are missing a STEP in your speculation, once the bill comes out of conference, BOTH the Senate and the House have to vote on it again, with the compromises made in Conference? BEFORE the bill can go to the President to sign.... the Fat lady does not sing, until then Mid.

So, that is why i believe the Senate will have more pull on the conferenced bill...

Care it is in the house bill that just passed that you MAY receive jailtime if you fail to purchase insurance for yourself or your family.
