The Wife and I purchased our first home in 89 and paid it off in 14 years. We made 30k off the sell.
We then bought and paid for a 350k weekend place in the Texas hill country on the S Llano river and then sold it for 480k a year later.
You obviously have no clue how to manage money.

I wonder how many landlords were forced to sell out because with no rent money, there was no way for them to pay all the bills. All my tenants pay and have paid their rent the last year and a half. If they didn't, I would have had no choice but to get rid of the place since by law, I couldn't get rid of the tenants. WTF do you people think we do with that rent money, go on European vacations every year? Most of the money we collect goes to pay the taxes, the structure insurance, the utilities, the mortgages, the maintenance, the repairs, and whatever is leftover, perhaps an update here or there.

That's nice, but all it does is incentivise irresponsible living and piss off anyone that's lived their lives right.

If they can't afford their rent then they shouldn't be living beyond their means, but as usual it's fine someone else will pick up the tab,

It's past rent not future rent and it's an attempt to keep additional thousands from becoming part of the homeless population.

The problem is there will be little or no screening of who's rent will be paid off. So the people who decided to just stop paying because they could will be rewarded for their behavior.
