Milgram's experiment.
In brief, authority figures were able to convince 65% of those in the experiment to apply (what they thought) was maximum dosage of an electric vote. The authority assured these people it was okay, even necessary, to do this.
Forget about arguing for or against the Catholic position. That is meaningless. What we should be discussing is whether Authority should be assuring us it is okay, even necessary, for mothers to take the life of the unborn.
We have the results of an experiment staring us in the face that if someone in authority gives permission to kill someone, 65% of us, a strong majority, will go along with it.
This being the human psyche, should any government authority authorize or be publicly in favor of taking any innocent human life? People in authority must be held to a higher standard, standards even they have no permission, no right, to change.
