I'm Finally Ashamed Of My Country

I have seen entire industries vanish under the heels of so called "immigrant workers" Everything from construction to the box industry and or any anything else in between. Underclass or poor Americans are treated like trash. And hence deserve being dispossessed by... people that are here illegally. Cheap exploitable labor Mexicans provide, that isn't a "THING" And the thing about THAT is, nobody is above the law...cynically, the exploiters that profit from illegal aliens want to manipulate immigration laws under the radar. And call it humanitarian. Right, meanwhile we have all these homeless Americans dispossessed by this very issue living in the streets...Humanitarian, my sweet bippy.

Well, our independence was fought for

Maybe men in colonial area attire with muskets,
bayonets and cannons would have made you people happy

I'll add you to the rest of the list of idiots that doesn't realize they got played by Trump.

I've not seen a single person post in this thread that says they don't support and respect the military. What most people understand however is, Trump didn't respect them by using them for his propaganda purpose of making the 4th of July event in Washington a Trump campaign event at tax payer's expense.
Ok, first of all, I don’t view the event as you do
I’m left wondering why all our presidents
didn’t celebrate our independence in this fashion

That was a celebration of our independence from Britain
that the man, elected to be the president of, wanted

How the event was politicized is beyond me

Just because you see it as propaganda doesn’t make it so

And, when it comes to at the expense of the tax payers...zip it

Our tax dollars should be used to celebrate our independence
Our tax dollars should benefit this country and her people

Not invaders illegally in our country
and overwhelming detention centers

Not to buy toxic debt

Not to give to other countries
You see, that is where the disconnect comes in. You Trump Toads still don't get it. First off, we are the invaders. That is a documented fact, not subject to debate by Republicans, because they have been moot on the subject; Imperial Borders and Mythical Frontiers - TheHumanist.com

Secondly, what an insult it is to have a military parade with a draft dodging coward, who struts around on stage talking like a hot shot about getting Iran's oil, while never taking into consideration loss of life from his own military. Do you have any idea how absolutely fucked up that is? He deferred from a war his daddy paid to keep him out of, because according to him, it wasn't a popular war, but wouldn't think it twice to send our troops in now to go and get the rest of Iran's oil. And you people want the rest of the country to celebrate with Trump? Not even if you paid me. There is such a thing as morality, and you folks lost it all.

Then, third, to top it all off, you folks expect us to celebrate with an illegal president who used porn stars, Russia, illegal purges, and massive poll closings in the south to get elected? Not in this life. I just can't stoop that low and disrespect my country by celebrating with a criminal.

I do agree that you are certainly an aggravating little shit.

I'm totally satisfied with what happens in Washington D.C. staying in D.C.

On Friday I took some time and checked YouTube to see what had been posted within the past 24 hours of small town July 4th celebrations around the country. Good stuff.

I hate to tell you this... but the 4th of July isn't about the military. It's about the Independence of the Country.

We have Veteran's Day. We have Memorial Day. We have V-Day. I'm sure I'm missing more to support troops, but that isn't what the 4th of July is about.
Well, our independence was fought for

Maybe men in colonial area attire with muskets,
bayonets and cannons would have made you people happy
No parade would have made me happy, because it was an insult to the troops who are fighting and dying in wars manufactured to enrich others. Totally disgusting.
We were celebrating the independence we enjoy
that others fought and died for
Maybe you were? I don't know you. But I know Trump. There was no celebration for Trump. He was scheming as always using the troops as a prop.
Why does this country remain under our control?
We were celebrating the independence we enjoy
that others fought and died for
That's your post. That independence surfaced in 1776 right? So, to answer your question as to "why this country remain under our control"; because we now control other countries we once didn't control, and feel entitled to dictate policy for those countries, while simultaneously scapegoating them as enemies. That's the kind of independence we enjoy now. Controlling our country as well as others with our military might. Kind of a sick way to spend independence day, don't you think? We stripped others from their independence, and now with a show of military strength, stripped the independence from other countries. That's really fucked up.

My father fought in WW2. Wounded and suffered from what we now call PTSD. I cant speak for him or his generation. I kinda doubt his generation would have allowed politicians give queers and illegal aliens special status they have gained now...they would be scratching their heads, and ask themselves, why are is there so many dispossessed and homeless? (if I know my dad well enough) having lived through the depression. And of course, he would also ask: "Why are we catering to foreigners"? Can't answer that, I don't know. Why are we?

If a person of sound mind, respect for the truth and honesty, took the time to educate him or herself, took the initiative to fully read this publication that clearly gives us all a window into our own history, a clear headed thinker would surely draw the same conclusions I have known for decades. I just happen to be honest enough to acknowledge these historical facts exist. But then again, I have traveled some of these places, and understand the background from which the oppression originates.

I'm not going to elaborate too much more, based on your own attitude about this subject, it's abundantly clear you are short on historical perspective and favor the more convenient side of the argument, so here is your link. One key point, if you don't get anything; And it isn’t enough to just say all are welcome. Of course all should be welcome—but only those who want to come. We can’t accept being the refuge from the problem if we’re also the source of it.

Bless your father, I honor him. He and his fellow soldiers guaranteed we would not be under the terrible rule of the socialist/facist 3rd Reicht. After all, America is the largest, heaviest fruit on the world 'tree' and tyrants would LOVE to pluck it. Today we have an undeclared war with Neo-Marxists who were always there but distracted by WWII and Hitler. We all need to step up, like your father did, and obliterate this Marxist cancer that has crept into American culture.

I can guess you don't understand the WW2 generation, not that I do either. I doubt, with my limited knowledge, they would ever condone exploiting illegal aliens let alone give them sanctuary from federal immigration laws. They would rather have, I suppose, like our predecessors actually follow the rule of law and immigrate legally. And not be cynical manipulative creeps and exploit illegal aliens and then make it sound morally righteous.

And you are assuming a whole lot because guess what it took an immigrant from Europe to do to immigrate to the United States back then? Get a ticket on a boat.

What they would more than likely be confused about is, why is a guy that was too big of a coward to serve his country was able to become President.

And you are assuming a whole lot because guess what it took an immigrant from Europe to do to immigrate to the United States back then? Get a ticket on a boat.

What they would more than likely be confused about is, why is a guy that was too big of a coward to serve his country was able to become President.
Vietnam was not a war that served this country

God help this country should it depend on the draft

My father didn't fight for the right for queers to marry. Or to give illegal aliens some right or other to take over low level jobs from Americans. I don't think that is what Geo. Washington fought for either. All things being equal. And the civil war? We freed blacks. That's all the reparations they can expect...

I don’t have a problem with immigration or immigrants
I have a problem with people illegally entering the country
and
You see, that is where the disconnect comes in.

Why are we?

He would ask why we are catering to foreigners? He fought in WWII? That's kind of funny... because probably half the guys fighting next to him were the first generation of their family that were born in the United States.

WHAT???? All you guys do is make excuses for him. When the President of the United States and Congress say the troops are going to fight somewhere.

You know, kind of like how all the Trump supporters here said that once Trump said Troops needed to go serve on the southern border, that was final.

Sure he did, because he fought for freedom. Once you start choosing what freedoms you think people should have, then there no longer is freedom.

Yeah, that generation made their choices. And it wasn't for gay rights or open immigration, bucko. They fought fascism, the evil of the time. Now? Progressive liberalism is sounding more like Mussolini's version of facismo .Tell everyone what to think, when to think and what to think? Smells of American liberal fascism. It is scary, it really is. Liberal groupthink and fascism, what is the difference?

The choice of gay rights was decided a long time ago... long before your father fought in WWII. Maybe one day you'll read the Declaration of Independence, unless that is you don't think women and minorities deserve equal rights too?

It's amazing how small minded people like you are. Mayor Pete served in the military in a war zone for his country. You trying to say he doesn't deserve the same rights as Draft Dodger Donnie?

You know, there are these things called 'search engines'.

I wonder what, on earth, could the reason by that triggers folk like MaryL and others of her ilk.

I just, cant, seem, to put my finger on it.
