Why is eating too much a sin? Who does it hurt? Other than the fact that it'll make you fat of course.
Gluttony mentioned as a sin typically comes from the Catholic teaching of the "7 deadly sins", which is not even Biblical. The closest anyone can muster is from Proverbs 6, which says:
There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
Nothing there about gluttony. The Christian teaching would be that our bodies are temples of God, and to feed it beyond need is wasteful and damaging. But as to it being "7 deadly"? Nah.
