One more ridiculous over-reaction by the politically correct police run amok. I rate this one right up there with the suspension of a 5 yr. old boy from kindergarten for 3 days because he kissed a 5 year old girl on the cheek. His school acted like it was a near complete rape.

On the upside, the graduating kid in this story wasn't really denied his diploma -the school couldn't do that since he had fulfilled all the state requirements to receive it. He was sent back to his seat and denied the appearance of receiving it onstage. When like most public high school graduations -it is an empty folder they receive on stage anyway and their diploma is in a packet they pick up after the ceremony. They should have let it slide -no one was harmed, the ceremony was not interrupted, no one was aware of anything - UNTIL the kid was sent back to his seat. All the principal did was make sure this kid's last memory of that school was a lousy one. But he sure sounds like he's patting himself on the back for making it sure it was.

But the administrators feel they were just enforcing the rules that students agreed to. At a meeting following the debacle, school superintendent Suzanne Lukas said that "if a student doesn't adhere to the expectations, then the consequences are clearly spelled out."

This isn't the first time that rambunctious (dare we say "fun"?) behavior affected a graduation ceremony at Bonny Eagle. "Four years ago we had some issues with silly string and beach balls," said Lukas.

Yes.... I can certainly see how "throwing a kiss" is synonymous with "rambunctious"
