I agree with some of the other posters it is more than likely a negotiation ploy. Career government folks are not use to how things are done in the private sector so his administration isa learning experience for them. As one poster added there is already a deal with Greenland and Denmark.

I think the Greenlandic people are going to be glad. I just heard today about how the Danes have been trying to genocide the Greenlandic natives by surreptitiously placing IUD's in their women and girls.
