And it’s August.. democrats are cheating on a wide scale and it will take years to figure out if the person is alive if it’s mailed out, and ballot harvesting.. so I ask democrats is it worth it? I believe there are laws that require election results to be certified by a certain date or they become invalid. Also, the 20th Amendment states that the Presidential term of office expires on January 20th, whether there's an elected successor or not.

1. Agree that Trump's 1st term ends on 1/20/21 at noon.
2. The question that is not confirmed is, when does one of the candidates need to hit 270 EC votes or the Constitution directs the Senate to vote for a president "pro tem"? What date and time?
3. Agree that the new speaker of the House will be elected on or about January 3rd 2021.
4. What triggers the speaker taking over, or not, on noon 1/21/21?
5. Would the 2020 election be voided and that new president be in for 4-years? (yes according to Cecilie)

Absentee ballots were intended for those who can't vote in-person, not those able to.
So what happens if all the states do not certify their electors on time, and no one has 270?

If no clear results from the election can be determined then the speaker on the house takes over as president.

Except that if there's no election at all, then there's no Speaker of the House. All members of the House are up for re-election every two years. And their terms expire on January 5th.

We've discussed this on numerous threads, actually. I maintain that it's both Unconstitutional and something that would simply not be allowed for there to be no functioning House of Representatives at all, but it's a current fact of law - as pointed out by PolishPrince - that House seats have to be filled by election.

Someone will find it to be problem as with every other possibility. It is not a Constitutional problem as such.

I didn't say it was a Constitutional problem. It's a legal problem, certainly, because states have legally set deadlines by which votes have to be certified.
