Law enforcement has been doing some good work. But their efforts are NOT what prevented the home-made bomb contrived inside the Nissan Pathfinder by the would-be Times' Square scumbag from going BOOM. It actually did go POP. IT fizzled and smoked. But had we not gotten lucky that the asshole happens to have been quite inept, that improvised bomb COULD have done some serious damage. Law enforcement had exactly NOTHING to do with how badly it was constructed (or wired).

Similarly, the fact is that law enforcement had absolutely NOTHING to do with the FAILURE of the Christmas panty bomber to have his device go BOOM. It too actually did go off. It, too, went POP. It fizzled (not without burning the scumbag's crotch). But our law enforcement played no part in why it failed.

Some of our law enforcement efforts have been sterling successes. For example, the Tonawanda, NY al qaeda cell got exposed and taken down.
